Food and service were great and the restaurant was clean. The serving size was unexpectedly small and the cost outrageous. $57 for a small chicken Cesar salad, chili cheese fries and a piece of pie. Too bougie for this old lady.

DOWNGRADING MY REVIEW after a second visit: It's pennies on the dollar, however, I was thoroughly disappointed to see a "credit card surcharge" on my bill. I have never seen this before (with any restaurant) and it's clear that they are passing on this cost (that's been around forever between the vendor and the card companies) directly to customers. We've been wanting to go to Katz's forever and just never got around to it. Now, we're retiring and moving out of the area. So, if we're going to do, we better get it done. What a disappointment. The restaurant was nice and clean with great music. There was one waiter for the entire restaurant and he was super slow. Barry, we've got to talk. In June of 2023 I rediscovered Katz's after being a loyal diner in Austin for years until it's closure. Clifford Antone used to buy me breakfast at 2 AM after visiting his club. I wrote a glowing review for your new Galleria establishment. Flash forward to my birthday weekend 2024. There was no one at the mobile pickup window. Had to call TWICE. Spent $40 on something that resembled VOMIT. Missing parts of the order and portion size was so SMALL. Manager was very SARCASTIC & not empathetic at all. Will never return, EVER!

I used to frequent Katz's Deli on Montrose years ago before reviews were a thing. I remember being super impressed with their large menu and atmosphere. My expectations weren't met as with the previous location. My family and I took my aunt to dinner for her birthday last night at the Galleria location. The location in the Galleria area was worse than sub-par. I was with a large group of people having dinner before the theater. The servers were ok. The food was terrible depending on your expectations. Definitely not Katz's Deli in NYC or any Jewish Deli in the Northeast. I had the Classic Rueben, pastrami on rye with sauerkraut.
