I'm glad Katz's never closes. It's challenging to find a place that is open at 11 p.m. I had been to the theater district and was starving. I wanted to have something fairly healthy and ordered a Niçoise salad. While the menu says the tuna comes on a bed of spinach and lettuce, it was served only with lettuce. We went to the newly opened Memorial location. It's the first time I have been to any Katz's location. This is not real deli food. The corned beef was bad as was the matzo ball soup. Doesn't compare to Kenny & Ziggi's. If you want real deli that's the place to go.

I wouldn't recommend this location. The Montrose location is better as far as taste of food. Great late night spot for cooked food.

the soup is decent tasting but the quality for the price is underwhelming. came with small packs of saltines.

Went here for the first time and was a bit disappointed. The server was very friendly, but the service overall was lacking. I ordered chilaquiles with fajita added on top. When the food arrived, there was no fajita. No problem, but the server insisted to remake the entire plate as the chips would be soggy by the time the steak was cooked. (Her words.) Very disappointed in the portion size for the French fry order.. paid $4.99 for the order and received 8 (steak) French fries. Said something to the personnel and she stated, it's portioned. Wellll, this is a rip off!!!! You tell me... is this portion size worth $4.99??

Horrible. Went wanting a quick bite before going to the Theatre. Ordered a French dip sandwich and a Cobb salad. When my husband ordered his sandwich asked if it came with potato chips. Our waitress, Kye said it didn't but we could order separately. When the food finally came out 39 minutes later, we got: a French onion soup (with burnt cheese on top) an order of fries, a plate of tortilla chips, and a salad missing half of the ingredients stated on menu. This place is a far cry from the Katz's in Austin, or the one on Montrose. The service was awful. Sandwiches were small and bland. Very small amount of mustard or cheese. Pastrami not good. Corned beef tasted like it was out of a can. Turkey ok. French bread decent. Drinks were ok. Everything was way overpriced for what you're getting. You can get a fat superior sandwich at any Firehouse Subs for half the price. Pass on this Katz's.

We made the mistake of going for lunch on Christmas Day because "they are always open" only to receive mediocre service and mediocre food. I was clear the B or C team was serving and the C or D team was working the kitchen. We have had good service and food in the past but will not return for any future holiday. PS: the prices were unchanged.
