Books, cake, cocktails, jazz, trivia nights ... much to love about this beloved DC spot that nourishes both mind and body. There's a cool bar with bright red barstools and wall paper that commands attention, an airy sun room as well as outdoor seating. The service is exceptional. A special call out to Danisha, who is an absolute star! This Dupont Circle gem has been my go to for decades. It's no longer open all night like it used to be, but if you find yourself in the area before 9:45 pm, do stop in. It's the kind of place t... read more
Kramers is such a reliable go to. I love the concept of having an all day brunch and a bookstore (and their events are so fun). Most recently I ordered a Bellini (with grapefruit) and my boyfriend ordered the chicken + waffles. He really enjoyed it, but wished there was more chicken. The Bellini tasted great and could've been stronger. The French soda is also pretty cool. I like the amount of outdoor seating, but my favorite place to sit is in the greenhouse-type room.
It is an ok place to eat, fod was decent. It was a very limited menu that seemed to be catered to inner city/urban millennials and Gen Z people. The service wasn't amazing and very hard to understand the waitress. The bookstore in here was cool so points for atmosphere. Overall, not a place i would go back to for the food.
The idea of having a book store and a restaurant together is so cleaver. I enjoyed walking around the book store and then grabbing something to eat. First and foremost the truffle Mac and cheese was delicious. They used different blocks of cheese to enhance the flavor of the Mac and cheese and it was shareable. The cinnamon French toast was amazing as well! You didn't even need the syrup since the caramel brioche was added. It tasted like a cinnamon bun! The bacon was extra crunchy and the pizza was also favorable. I highly... read more
My dream come true... a book store and restaurant in one! My first time at this iconic institution and I cannot wait to visit again. The food was tasty and came out quick. The have an all day breakfast menu which I thought was awesome. If you come on a nice day; ask for seating outdoors in their back patio!
I love that it's all day breakfast, and cute concept of bookstore/cafe. We went twice while on vacation. The first time it was a lot less busy and we found the quality to be better. The breakfast sandwich was ok, nothing special though the bacon was good. The salad was lovely though. The French toast was pretty good. Would get that again. Though it was definitely better the first time we went. The strawberry pomegranate soda was bomb! Most memorable item I got, and the desserts looked delicious. Just a note, my friend got t... read more
Awesome food and great service. Our son lives here in Washington and every time we come to visit we always come to Kramers for Breakfast/Brunch. It becomes a tradition and we love it. The Cubano and the crab soup Highly recommended!!!
Solid food and good service. Sat here with friends for 2 hours at the big table and didn't have to ask for water refills. Staff was also understanding that friends were late, so we ordered in a staggered manner. Only complaint is that the bathroom exhaust or some kind of bathroom-like odor made its way into our space and ruined my appetite.
Bookstore and cafe built into one! A dream come true and the food was soooo good. The service was fairly quick and there is a bar for wine and alcoholic drinks as well as a bar in the bookstore where you can watch them cook.
