We've been going to La Strada for many years, and it never disappoints. This time, we had brick chicken and butternut squash risotto - both superb (and the risotto was some of the best I've had anywhere). Dennis, our server, was great from the moment we sat down until we were heading for the door. And a word of praise for our Dennis's assistant/busboy (Valetin) - who seemed to always be there at just the right moment but was never intrusive.
I have been waiting to try their new pizzas from the new oven they installed and they don't disappoint. The pizza dough was tasty and cooked to perfection, and they were not stingy on the toppings. An excellent gourmet pizza. I had it with a salad for a nice light meal.
The price fix menu with wine pairing was amazing. I would come here again for a special occasion.
We arrived at 6:55 for aa 7 pm reservation. Everything was timed nicely. This was one of the best NYE dinner's I have ever had. A great menu but chose the fixed 4 course menu for $52, that included a chef's sample of several dishes ....2 different items on each plate serving. The $16 wine pairing was nice as well. this was one of the least expensive but 5 star meals we have had on NYE. Easily could have been $300-500. We started with Mushroom Ravioli Appetizer also available as an Entree. The next visit I will have it as an Entree, they are outstanding. The baked Halibut was excellent, the Salmon was good but nothing special (what can you do to Salmon?). We have been to La Strada many times and have never been disappointed. They were out of the wine we ordered so they upgraded us to a more expensive wine at no additional charge.
Four of us went there for New Year's Eve. It is its busiest night of the year. All,of the food was great except for the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was overcook and the meatballs were dry. The lasagna was fantastic. Service was poor but as I said it was its busiest night of the year.
I've been going to the La Strata restaurant for many years and really miss the old one. The new decor was pleasant and we wanted a really special dinner for Christmas Eve, but was a little disappointed. The service was just okay. Our waiter just seemed extremely busy and not able to give us the attention I expect at a restaurant like La Strata. Dined at lappLa Strada for Xmas dinner. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was superb and the service was flawless!
LA STRADA is a mid-range Italian restaurant situated in Reno's Eldorado resort/casino. Normally the service, food and service are excellent. Our last visit was on Christmas Eve, a very busy night as most local, independent restaurants are closed. That night, the food was still good, but not as good as expected.
