We have been to LBV maybe 4 times....out of the four times, we were overcharged three of the times. Once they got away with it , but I check the bill after we left and found the error of being charged for drinks that we never ordered or had, from that point we check the bill prior to paying and have had two issues that were resolved prior to paying...... Did not seem to be enough servers at this venue. Had to ask numerous times for items and when asked about deserts they omitted the one we liked the best, so I asked and he s... read more
I was a huge fan and steady customer of La Bonne Vie when operated by Mountaineer. I told everyone that the steaks were on par or better than any steakhouse in the country, just the best. The decision to cut the price of the steaks to be competitive with Outback or Bonanza is a choice that will surely keep me away. I was very fearful when I saw $25 steaks on the menu when I expect to pay $50-$60 and the result was as I expected, a terrible steak. You should leave that business to the family chains or truck stops who do a bet... read more
The hostess made us wait to see if our table was ready. When we went in the place wasn't even half way full. We ordered and had to send the undercooked appetizer back. My veal was supposed to be topped with prosciutto but was served topped with cheese. My wife's filet was dry even though it was ordered medium rare. Not a good experience at all.
SLOW...Waited over 45 minutes for our meal and it was pasta!
This is the is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a negative review of a restaurant. We called ahead at La Bonne Vie to see what the dress code was since I was under the impression that it was a high-end place. They told us that suit and tie is preferred but wear at least a suit coat since it's "business casual". I actually enjoy dressing up for a nice special meal so all the men wore suits in our party. The atmosphere of the restaurant was okay once you were forced to walked though the smoke filled slot-sino. ... read more
It was my mother's 70th birthday. It's hard to explain how disappointing the food was overall. The lobster bisque could have been tomato soup with cream. The shrimp and scallops linguini was totally over sauced. My mom's sauce was not very good, she didn't even eat her dinner. My dad's filet was like a hockey puck. None of the food was hot or even warm. Not a good birthday dinner. Would not come back.
When the waiter comes to the table with an apology each time, it doesnt speak well for the service. Food was good, waiter was terrible.
I do not usually take the time to write reviews. However, our experience at La Bonne Steakhouse was so bad, I feel the need. I had Lobster Bisque...It had no lobster in it and was a very thick salty base. I also had the veal. It was ok, but cold. My husband had alfredo without any protein. It tasted like it was tossed with water that seafood was boiled. Everything we had was bad, and I mean bad, except the bread and wine.
We were expecting more from a Casino-based restaurant. Cold and noisy. Our waiter had just stepped out, so the head waiter took our order - after a couple that was seated after us had received their table bread, cocktails, and appetizer. Our table for 2 was cluttered with bread & olive oil plates, appetizer plates, and pasta course plates when our entree arrived. Our waiter had to set our entrees aside, bus the table, and return to serve. Wine menu was limited. Food was passable, but not up to expectations. Too much olive oi... read more
