Get directionsMy beloved aunt became a resident at Leycester House shortly before her 101st birthday and died there recently aged 104. I can't fault the wonderful care which she had there. Living a long way away, we couldn't visit as often as we would have wanted, but I was always more than satisfied that she was happy and well looked after. The facilities are excellent - the bistro, parties in the private dining room, and fabulous birthday cakes! There's a weekly programme of activities and entertainment, a hairdresser and a beauty salon... read more
My husband spent 2 weeks respite care in October and I couldn't have wished for better care. The staff were wonderful and looked after his needs in the most wonderful way. They introduced him to all activities and he took part willingly enjoying them thoroughly. I am hoping to be able to book him for a further respite stay shortly
My father recently stayed at Leycester House for respite purposes. After researching a few local Care Homes and careful consideration, we couldn't have been happier with the care dad received during his stay. The home is a beautiful place with fantastic facilities and activities for residents to participate in if they so wish - we asked that dad be encouraged to join in - he was and really enjoyed what he took part in. Each time I met with staff at Leycester House I felt reassured dad was in the best place. The carers not on... read more
My mother needed respite care for 2-3 weeks, and Leycester House had been highly recommended to us. We were a bit apprehensive about respite care, so I decided to visit before my mother stayed there. The atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, and everything seemed clean and efficient. During her stay my mother was very happy that she had a lovely sunny room, all the staff were kind, and the food was very good too.
I stayed at Leycester House for 3 weeks, needing nursing care following an operation. The staff were all lovely and I received all the care I needed, willingly given 24/7. The food was excellent, three cooked meals a day if one so desired and very good quality. My wife was also impressed with the help she was given when coming and going to visit. Meeting other residents in the large sitting room for chats and a glass of wine confirmed the friendly atmosphere and satisfaction of other residents with Leycester House. I think i... read more
When my husband and I were looking for a care home in the area we live, we visited at least 5 homes. Leycester House was head and shoulders above all the others. From our initial enquiry to my mother-in-law moving in, was exceptional. The team took time to understand her needs, likes/dislikes, hobbies etc which really made us feel reassured this was the right decision. The team are so caring, happy and supportive. The home itself, in our mind, is like an all-inclusive hotel.
I am very confident to recommend Leycester House as a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place to stay or live. We had a short stay at Leycester House to recuperate after a bereavement. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Throughout our time there we felt that everybody was understood and appreciated as an individual and that the staff were both sympathetic to our needs and skilled at meeting them. The surroundings are lovely and everything was spotlessly clean. The food and drink were excellent, and... read more
The team could not have been more helpful when Mummy unexpectedly needed convalescent care. The speed and efficiency was especially impressive with the extra demands of Covid-19 protocols. Mummy could not fault the care she received. Her only negative comment was that she found the food disappointingly dull and over-salted for her taste, and she felt it did not match the very high standard of everything else at the home. It was wonderful to know she was in such safe and caring hands. I was particularly impressed by the proac... read more
This is my first experience of respite care and necessitated by a lengthy period of isolation between hospital procedures and the necessity for help with transport to and from hospital appointments. All my requirements have been handled in a professional, caring and supportive way. I am encouraged to use my call button for any need, big or small, and the response time is reassuringly short. Nothing is too much trouble. My ground floor room has access to outside space and puts me in mind of a comfortable hotel rather than my ... read more
