I love this place! They never have a wait unlike Burma Superstar and the food is even better and fresher tasting. The tea leaf salad, balada, Mandalay special noodles, and mango chicken can't be beat.

Great atmosphere, wonderful food and excellant service. Fresh flowers on the tables, and welcome and warm environment that sets the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Basil anything is amazing here. Mandalay is a go to for me and my friends.

It's the oldest, and also the wisest and yummiest Burmese restaurant in SF. Their tea leaf salad and samusa salads are to die for. The owners are present practically every day and make everyone feel welcome and like family. The waits at dinner time can be annoying, though, so arrive early or late.

A great Burmese spot. It's casual and lively. Great for kids and groups. The food is excellent. It's a great go to when you want something easy, fun and delicious.

It's the better of the two Burmese spots in the area. Mandalay is less trendy and more genuine. The staff is so nice and hard working. Must tries are samosas, walnut prawns, coconut rice and mandalay pork, although the server also makes excellent recommendations.

typically overshadowed by nearby Burma Superstar, Mandalay holds its own and in some cases, surpasses it's competitor.

I think their version of the fermented tea salad is my favorite out of all the local Burmese restaurants. I go out of my way just to have some of the salads here. Recently went with some very particular eaters and they loved every dish we tried. The salad and noodle dishes are the standouts.
