We were pleasently surprised by the quality of the food and the ambiance. Also the price was outstanding. This is the first time we have been in about 2 years and will make sure we go back a lot sooner. We will recommend your restaurant to our friends also
The only thing that could have been better would have been a little surprise birthday treat for my mom. When I made reservations online I wrote a note explaining it was my mothers 64th birthday and I was wondering if there was anything you (the restaurant) could do for her. Again everything was perfect and we had a great time. Great experience and wonderful service by our waiter, but it was by no means a quick dinner. Things took a long time. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:40pm with 8pm reservations and did not leave until 11pm due to the slow delivery of food and seating.
It was a busy April evening at Mangiamo! Many family groups were present, prom groups, and others, so we were thankful that we had made a reservation online with Open Table. Free parking is available on site, so after parking, we headed inside to the maître d, who ushered us directly to our table in the library. What a gorgeous restaurant! The food was fantastic. We shared the Artichoke Balls Fritti as an appetizer. They were very tasty. The spicy marinara was spicy. You need just a little bit. For the entree, I had the blackened chicken with bowtie pasta. My two dining colleagues had a thin crust pizza and the seafood linguini. Food was wonderful. My friend thought the linguini was a bit too spicy. I tried it and thought it was perfect. I'm assuming that it was our taste buds that really made the difference. The service was good, timely but not rushed.
A definite improvement over our last few visits to Mangiamo. Service was just OK though. Poorly trained rookie server. We had to ask for the feature menu and salads and suggest she sell us an appetizer. Process of opening wine was painful to watch. Entree's were well prepared and well presented, something changed in this department and for the better. Bar staff is still awful though.
Overall, the restaurant was very nice. Complimentary valet parking ups the class, and I felt like I was walking into somebody's house for dinner rather than a restaurant. The food was very good (the goat cheese fondue was particularly tasty) and dessert was delicious, too. I'd definitely recommend to a friend if only for the overall experience.
