Our food was perfectly average and at prices around $40.00 per person, I expected much, much, better. We started out with the mussels appetizer. The sauce was pretty good tomatoes, peppers & onions however, the mussels were not good. They tasted 2-weeks old and my wife got a rotten one. The wedge was acceptable. I had the halibut with carrot puree and and succotash. I had to send the plate back. Everything was cold. My wife had linguine with shrimp. Again, perfectly average. I would suggest to the restaurant to raise the qu... read more
When mentioned to the server that my daughter politely pulled the live ant off her tongue after drinking it from her glass of soda the waitress told us about the ant problem they have and how they have them all over the patio as well. No mention of grabbing a new drink or even removing the napkin with the squirming any on it. Bill was $180 for my wife, two daughters and me. Just expect a little more for that price point. Disappointing.
Loud and wrong It looks like the patio may be enjoyable in the evening, especially if just for drinks, but inside is another story. The venue is very attractive inside, but it handles noise extremely poorly. For a relatively expensive menu, the noise level should not such that you have to yell across the table. It was better once the place cleared out, but at peak times it should be avoided if you value conversation at all. The waitress was good at keeping the drinks full, but the kitchen was not able to keep up with dem... read more
Disapointed Took my wife for Mother's Day. Her steak was under-cooked on two occasions. The initial service to the table was slow. The bone in pork chop was rare at the bone. The Caesar salad was just ok. Was our 2nd trip to the location, since our initial visit was off the chart's. Will come back since we thought this trip may have been a combination of a smaller menu tied to Derby week, let alone Mother's day.
Understaffed, poor service, loud, mediocre food
The Derby Brunch that Wasn't I went to Mesh's website, where Brunch is listed as a menu option. There is no date/time specified for when brunch is offered. Additionally, I called the restaurant to make reservations and asked if they were serving brunch Derby day and was told yes. When my friend and I arrived for brunch and were given the lunch menu and told brunch would not be served. Secondly, we were charged $7 for the $5 mimosas that are available for brunch. Not impressed.
My fifth time dining there. Usually great service and consistent good food. Today's service for Mothers Day with a set menu was a disaster. Took 38 minutes to get water and the bread/deviled eggs/fruit platter starter. My children were starving and it was a very unpleasant time for my wife who was trying to enjoy a day of not cooking and being with our extended family. I would never go back there for a big occasion day as there seemed to be a lot of confusion. Also, our server didn't seem to be very experienced. Wouldn't e... read more
