Yesterday I had to put my little hedgehog to sleep and Jenny the receptionist was so sweet and sympathetic. I appreciate her warm touch and soft voice during an extremely heart breaking experience.

I have been bringing my birds to Midwest Bird and Exotic for almost a year now. They have given nothing but the best care to the three I have brought in in that time. They are always very professional, while at the same time caring and compassionate to not only my birds, but to me as well. This is a real hard post to make, but I believe in my heart that if I say this then it'll help those who are hesitant of choosing Midwest as their vet. Pistachio was my baby for 5 years and for 5 years he only went to Midwest. They treated him for mites and for 4 years he was healthy (although a bit fat they did warn). After living so happily for 4 years I noticed him starting to decline in health. I watched his actions for a few days and then at 1AM I brought Pistachio to the emergency vet. The vets, tech and front desk people here are great. They took great care of my guinea pig, and when I had to say goodbye to him, they were compassionate and caring.
I brought Sylvie in as an emergency choose to take home and care for myself with antibiotics she’s doing great. A phone call to check on her would have been nice next day. 😊 but staff was wonderful

I had a sick budgie (Perry) and brought him here one month ago. He was throwing up and unable to stomach His food. He was also standing around and sleeping for almost the entire day, with very little energy. He is a very old for budgies, 12 years old, and I feared the worst based on what I was reading online.
