I got my car from Detroit- I live in GR- went to local Jag for service- they scheduled me an appointment, I blocked my schedule (I am a healthcare professional) - they emailed the DAY before- opps, they forgot they were ctually closed. Even though it has been over 2 months since I purchased and took delivery of my car, I am still not happy with the whole experience. This is the most expensive car I have ever purchased, as well as the most frustrating vehicle purchase I have ever made. I brought my 2002 MINI Cooper S for evaluation of overheating and was advised the radiator fan needed to be replaced, After that service the problem recurred and when I returned was assured it was only a fuse which was replaced at no charge and no record of the visit was made. When the problem happened again, a search of the internet revealed the power steering pump fan and radiator fan to be on the same electrical circuit. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and my overall experience from Sharpe BMW. I certainly would steer clear of this dealership. I have a validated warranty claim that I have been attempting to get resolved with them all summer. They certainly are intensely friendly but regrettably, all they do is stall, stall, stall-Very poor follow through and not recommended!
Like all car dealers, I bring my car in for one thing and they want me to fix 3 other things, that I didn't even know were broken. I will not be taking my Mini there again. I have only had the oil changed by Mini dealers and they broke the oil plug and charged me for it. What kind of service is that? I do not think it is fair to take advantage of someone, but all car dealerships seem to. The repairs they suggest are all very costly and they make them ALL seem very dire. After just getting back from a Military Deployment I headed home to visit my family in Grand Rapids. I was interested in a CPO BMW 335i and thought I'd swing by the local dealership to check them out. The sales associate who helped me out was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. My first visits to the service department, I found very pleasant and was treated with high respect. Over time - 2+ years, I've seen this errode. This Spring I had my car in to have my summer tires/wheels put on which are stored at the dealership and also during this visit I requested a detail - inside and out. It was a Saturday the 9th of April that I took my brother with me to look at the Mini Cooper. When we entered the dealership immediately we were greeted by Shaun Waid. His approach was friendly and really wanting to help me begin the process of deciding what it was I was looking for in the Mini. I never felt any pressure from Shaun, just a positive, relaxed atmosphere to make an important decision. I tell people all the time who really think my car is awesome, about the Sharpe group and Shaun. Go see them!
