Required too much follow up For the price paid, I expected the best. That is what Montell sold me on. I had to have them come back out after initial completion of deck. All boards not secure, one board not level, electric wiring hanging from deck. After second visit it was completed after I had to contact them twice. Was told no sub contractors were to be used except for gutters. Subs did a good job but they also used subs for concrete work. High Pressure Selling Process We quoted a deck replacement. Not only was the quote 50% higher than a reliable competitor, we were also told the “spring discount” was only good if we signed that date. We wanted a company we could trust with a reliable reputation. Based on first impressions, I don’t think we will call you again.

Shady! This is probably one of the worst contractors I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I contacted this company to build a small deck. When the "sales person" came out he seemed pleasant enough, until he realized that I saw through his pricing scheme. I watched this man calculate the cost of my deck in front of me. When he came up with the final figure he frowned. The final figure was approximately $4000.00. Then, he started erasing numbers and recalculating phantom figures. Started good, finished with very poor customer service by manager and owner! Project was supposed to take two weeks, but ended up being four weeks. Crew took six days off in the middle of the project. Crew showed up usually late morning and was done around 5:00 PM most days. End result is overall great, but we have a few issues that they refuse to do anything about. I was basically threatened by the owner, George, in a text message as well! Not a very customer friendly company at all!

End product was very good; his crew very good; sales around it, not so good. Montell Construction built a deck around my house, connecting the two that I have. His team that did the work was very good and the work they did was remarkable and exceptional. I was very happy with the end product and, from that perspective alone, I would recommend.
