I had a less than desirable experience with Gus and his associates. When I originally spoke with Gus on the phone, I was impressed with him. He seemed kind and very knowledgeable in this field. I decided to submit a loan application to him along with all of the information/documents they required. The ball dropped and continued to drop after that. The home was scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2016. I was hospitalized and stayed over a week in the hospital and after being released October 2015, borrower was frantic because the builder will not continue with construction unless she got a loan commitment. I told the borrower that I thought it will be too early However, the builder demanded if she did not have a loan commitment, they will stop construction. I am in tears as I am writing this review on Gustan Cho, the sales manager of The Money Store. I got pre-approved by another lender and entered into a purchase contract back in June of 2015. The loan officer dealt with gave me a run around from the time we submitted all of our documents. Could not get a hold of him most of the time. A week after my loan closed Gustan Cho charged my credit card for a rapid rescore fee without my permission. I explained to Mr. Cho "All fees MUST be reported on the HUD for compliance testing due to RESPA reg Z requirements. And to just charge my credit card for the fee "when he discovered it was not on the HUD" without my permission is not ethical." Company I worked for at this time charged rapid rescore upfront. Due to limited funds of the borrower, I got my boss to agree that if it was okay to bill rapid rescore fee outside of closing. Boss agreed. After we closed, the mortgage processor charged the rapid rescore fee from the borrower credit card on file. Borrower was level IV underwriter so knew the rules and regs and was right that all fees needs to be disclosed on the HUD.
