About Us In 1995, Sheri Fastenrath, DVM identified the need for an emergent care facility for owners and their pets in the Huntsville area. Unfortunately, there were not many overnight emergency options for medical treatment in the surrounding area. We had to take our grand dog, Sailor in last week with seizure type behaviors. We were very impressed by the staff, cleanliness of the clinic, and the knowledge of Dr. Baxter. He spent so much time with us; reassuring us Sailor was going to be fine, proper diet, different things to try for his many allergies. We were very thankful for Dr. Baxter & AECC. Also, the cost of the visit was very reasonable!

Rapid and compassionate care of my critically ill dog. Cleanest medical facility I’ve been in in ages. I highly recommend this emergency vet if you need help. They will do everything possible, they’re open and honest about all procedures and outcomes. They were friendly and kind.

5 stars! This place is absolutely amazing! The staff is very friendly and helpful! And they were quick to act on my 6 month old Great Dane after she swallowed a spoon! Thank you guys! I would definitely recommend!

We went here knowing we would have to put down our sweet golden of 11years. They were so very patient and kind with us and offered their condolences. About a week later we received a card in the mail with a Golden retriever on the front and on the inside each person signed and told us they were sorry for our loss. Such an awesome and sweet group of people. The card and their love warms my heart. They helped make a very difficult time a little easier and I won’t forget that.
