The house is marketed as a new build, but I would feel comfortable in claiming that is false. Beginning with the living arrangements and the marketing of incorrect information. We called Oak Island Accommodations Rentals at the Beach customer service to confirm the living arrangements of the house since the listed information on the Description and Floor Plan website pages contradicts the bedding arrangements. We stayed at the Beach Fact Oar. The air conditioning would not keep up . The house has no insulation underneath the house. We called the company 4 times. They first sent one of Their maintenance guys out, he was very nice, but he measured the temperature out the vents and said it was good. They then sent out the hvac company, who told me that it was just too hot, 90 degrees is apparently too hot for a/c to keep up with. It stays near 100 at my house all summer and I can keep it 65 degrees, go figure. 84 degrees in the house... read more

The house we stayed at was not worth what we payed!! We saw roaches and the pics they posted were nothing like the actual house!! Pool was nice and hot tub was nice!! A/C was tore up for two days and in July that means house was 85 degrees! Ugh
We rented 36 Bunker Court condo for 1 week. Check-in was supposed to be at 3pm our first day, but we got a call from a rep at Oak Island Accommodations at 2:30pm letting us know that it would not be ready at 3pm. We had just literally gotten into town. The rental rep said we could put some of our stuff in the condo if we wanted to, but to put anything to the side so the cleaners could still clean. We had a terrible experience at our home. The house had half assed cleaning done. The pool wasn’t ready and we specifically put pool party on our wedding invitations. We wanted a Sunday to Sunday rental and they gave us a Monday to Monday rental instead so we had to spend a day in a hotel. I posted a review before and received notification that someone was trying to get in touch with me. Of course I received zero text messages, phone calls or emails. We stayed in the Rose Dew, and when we got here we figured out the dish washer and the dryer did not work. We let them know about the problems and the owners were supposed to replace them. Not getting replaced until after we leave, they were supposed to contact me after they talk to the owner about some sort of compensation and never heard a word from anyone. Lesson learned will not be staying here or using these services again!

This company does not practice good business. We arrived at our rental and it was filthy. I’ve called, my husband has called, and nobody does anything about our issue. All they do is blame the cleaning company they contract with. What they should do is focus on making their customer happy. I arrived to my vacation and had to clean a filthy house. I also own a business and can tell you that their business sense of customer service is lackadaisical. —The Willard Family
We got to our rental property (Mimi’s place) today and the air was broken it was 85+ degrees in the 3br unit. The maintenance man (Stephen) came and was very nice, but there was nothing he could do. The on call manager (Jessica) would not answer the phone nor return her voicemails to get us in another unit or even all the after hours AC company. So now we are stuck in this hot condo until the office opens in the morning. Plus we have killed 2 roaches within a few hours. Will not be using this rental company again.
