Won’t let me cancel my rental, even though I was told I had 7 days after initial payment. The house we rented does not provide TV’s in the bedroom. I wanted to cancel and rent a home with them that better suited our needs. They tell me one thing, then tell me another the very next day, and was told I cannot cancel even though it wasn’t 24hrs since I rented the wrong rental! After seeing all the reviews, I don’t think I’ll recommend this place again!
We've rented houses from this company for at least 15 years. No more. They waited until less than 48 hours before our check in to let us know our oceanfront rental was unavailable. I had been trying to get information from them for two weeks. Their solution? An ocean view house that looks abandoned with badly overgrown weeds. They truly don't care about customer service.
Very disappointing experience. The house itself is nice but was disgusting when we arrived. We called and they said they would send the cleaning crew back out. We went back after the cleaning crew (who has now supposedly cleaned twice) and it was still awful. Counters in the kitchen not clean, animal and human hair everywhere, sheets were FULL OF HAIR, no side tables or anything were dusted or wiped off. We recently stayed in Oak Island for 2 weeks and used OIA. We have rented with them previously and had no major complaints. It pains me to write this, but this year was VERY disappointing. I called before we arrived with concerns. I was told to give it a chance and call when we got there. Ha! I will make it known, we tried several times to contact them. Will never use OIA again. Rented Coconut Hut last week and was extremely disappointed that OIA would not disclose major beach renourishment in front of the beach front rental that would not allow us to use the beach because of bulldozers and large pipes being moved up and down the beach 24/7. Have the common decency to call, email, text anything with enough notice to let people know that they would not be able to use the beach they paid for and offer something else. We stayed the first week of June at Don't Worry Beach Happy . It is a pet friendly house with a pool. We arrived at 3 ( check in time) and the house was trashed. They let us know some one would be out to clean it shortly. At 430 1 person showed up to clean the 5 bedroom house and was finished in a little over an hour for us to move in at 6. We stayed in C TURTLE on Long Beach. The house was fine but we had rain for a day and the driveway flooded so bad. The water was up to my leg calf. It was ridiculous. We couldn’t park on the street either. There was nowhere to park. So every time we wanted to leave we had to take our shoes off and walk in the water to the car. Take a towel to clean our feet. Location 5 Star All In One Upon arrival there were many spiders on the front door that came into the house. Second Floor view is Amazing! Kitchen had many appliances, silverware and glasses. Some of the kitchen utensils need to be replaced, spatulas broke and burned. Ice maker was not turned on and full of mold, needed cleaned. Unable to use the entire trip.
