Horrible experience. Endured hurricane with no water or electricity. Received damage to my new truck from flood. Evacuated with 20 minutes notice. We were told we would be issued a full refund. I emailed 3 times and called twice. No communication. Absolutely despicable company. Filing a complaint with the BBB and considering a civil suit.
RecommendedWe have used OIA for several years now, and the Staff has always been very helpful until July, 2020. The house we rented, Beach Bums, needed major work. We were lead to believe that the entire house had been remodeled; however, this was not the case. We paid “Hilton” prices for a “Super 8” house. Very disappointed.
Staff is always courteous and friendly. Have always tried to work to solve any issues and make our stays a pleasant experience.
The last 3 times ( years ) that we have used Oak Island Accommodations we have had problems with things not being clean ( really filthy ) and things not working. One year the carpet was so dirty that we could not walk on it without shoes. Our feet and socks would turn black. At the same Condo the couch and chair were so dirty and damp we could not use. Very UN professional and inappropriate Agent used key to come into home twice after we rented Agent then said we were being rear end for not liking that he just walked in TWICE UN announced to just “check” into home we rented
We have been renting through OIA for 20 years. The staff is always very kind and helpful. Just got back from another amazing week on the island. We came prepared with our own cleaning supplies, based on other reviews here...WE DID NOT NEED THEM. The house was immaculate, smelled fresh and clean and even the beds were made. Don’t believe the property photo pictures as they may be several years old. What we saw online looked like a new home, & very well kept. Not so. Don’t think that although the property lists Maid Service. There will NOT be, as this is misleading. a. Renters are required to strip the bedding and place in laundry bags.
