These past months of being unable to see our ninety-four year-old mother would have been even more difficult had we not known in advance of the kindness of [name removed] and his wonderful co-workers. We are particularly grateful that, due to the vigilance of the staff, residents and workers remain virus-free. We look forward to thanking them in person right after we hug our mother!
We toured this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. I just didn't think this place would have been a good fit for us. The staff were all very friendly, and seemed to take good care of the residents, but the facility itself just felt worn down. Some areas had a noticeable odor and just looked a bit dirty. Another big issue for us was that there was no security or alarm on the front door, which would have been a problem since our loved one has wandering issues.
Summit Place is wonderful!! We are very happy with them. We toured four different places and I knew from the moment I walked in that this was the place for her. Scarlet was wonderful, from the moment you get there, she sits down and listens to you she was very attentive, and really seemed interested to learn about my mom. Of course it's clean, and the staff is friendly. Plenty of activities, and the food is good. We don't have any complaints.
I had a nice tour when I was there. It's new but it's about a 50 minute drive from my house so it was a little to far away. I needed to find something closer.
The reason I chose “Summit Place” was because of their reputation for quality care. Its grounds are very pleasant with plenty of shade and nice places to go for walks. Mom hasn’t complained about the food and she seems to be adjusting well. I will happily talk to anyone about “Summit” and recommend them. They are the best that’s available in town.
Understaffed and few resources with proper qualifications to take care of residents. Multiple turnover of leadership personnel in short period of time. Some heroes but not enough. There is a lot of room for improvement here.
My father stayed 6 weeks at Oaks of Beaufort. He was told to do his own laundry though he can't. Trash from moving was left in room two + weeks. The bathrooms're small, hard with a walker. There is no bathroom fan. Broken TP+ towel racks. Dirty laundry sat stinking. Day staff let me know the night staff sleeps on the couches rather than working. This causes staff friction. Staff also complained about low pay and insufficient health insurance. The food is unappealing. The servers are sullen. Activities not offered. The van fo... read more
The Oaks, an Atlanta based assisted living company bought [removed] over a year ago. One of the most important amenities to our family was the fact that Summit Place had a bus and took residents on. outings - lunch, shopping or just for a drive. The Oaks at Beaufort has not done this for its residents in about a year, claiming that there is a title issue with the bus. It has gotten to the point of absurd that this company cannot manage to get this bus registered. I’ve brought this up multiple times and get no relief. I have ... read more
Both of my parents were moved to the Oaks in October of 2021. We were very pleased for the first 9 months. After the new ED took over, cleanliness and care on the Assisted Living side went down hill. I would not recommend moving a family member there.
