What stood out the most about Panevino was authenticity. They Pride themselves on making you feel like you're in Sicily. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp and the eggplant rotini (ricotta cheese) I went with the Italian server's suggestion the signature osso buco which was delicious. After reading my review I challenge you not to take me for my word and try it yourself you'll be delighted.
I had dinner at pane e vino and everything was great. The food was amazing and very tasty!!! The customer service was much better very thankful and professional!!! Real Italian place, all of the employees are Italian and you can feel yourself like in Italy!!! If you are in downtown Panevino is a must!!!
I was completely blown away by the standard of service and the quality of food here at Panevino last night. Made a booking through OpenTable due to my wife birthday. On arrival we were greeted by a an hostess who brought us to the table where ,by surprise , was covered in Rose petals. The restaurant was small & cozy. The time with our friends was great. My dish was delicious as was the bread. However, the other 3 in our party did not care too much for the food. They said it was "okay", we will probably try another place when visiting the Gaslamp District in San Diego next time.

We don't spend a lot of time in downtown San Diego. So we aren't familiar with dining options there. For dinner, we arranged to meet an out of town friend at the last minute who was staying at a downtown hotel. The food and service (Sabrina) were excellent. The Osso Buco was cooked to perfection, just the the way I remembered it on my last visit to the restaurant in 2013. The Antipasti portions are as generous as those for the mains. I have spent quite a bit of time in Italy and Osteria Panevino captures the atmosphere of a friendly dining spot perfectly. The Halibut was exqusite
We were traveling on Thanksgiving day and made a reservation at Panevino. It was such a great dinner. We sat outside which was very pleasant. The food was delicious and our waitress was super friendly and fun. When things slowed down later in the evening, she spent time chatting with us which really enjoyed. If I still lived in town, this would definitely be one of my regulars.
