This is our third time to this restaurant. The food is always good. We were seated quickly. The server was friendly and helpful. They were very busy and it was very noisy. We asked for more water several times with no luck. Finally we got it. Then our entree came and there were no utensils. We finally got the server's attention and she brought some utensils. It seemed to become less hectic once some large parties left.
We went for a pre-marathon meal and I would have been happy with an average pasta dish. Instead I was treated to an incredible lamb ravioli. I have traveled (and dined) extensively for work, and been to Italy many times. This dish was one of the best I have had outside Italy. The server was very cheerful and had apparently been with the restaurant for many years. Great evening, great meal!
The tables are so close together you can hear every conversation and get bumped by everyone that goes by or tries to get up from their seat.
The restaurant was fantastic. Food and service were outstanding. The reservation made by open table was not made. Luckily they had a table, we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
Have dined here before and has always been excellent. This visit was no exception. Great atmosphere, food, and service! Had friends in from San Jose and they too were impressed. Also portions are very good size...no one goes away hungry! One of the best Italian restaurants in the Gaslamp. Highly recommend.
Real italian taste love the food and the service
The FourSquare comments said the service was poor but I had a fabulous time. Place was busy and the staff was circulating. Food was outstanding and I would go back in a minute.
Food was very fresh and excellently prepared. Had the fried calamari appetizer and was perfectly prepared! Then between the three of us we ordered the fettuccini with swordfish, crab and lobster ravioli, and gnocchi. All excellent! Would definitely come back!
Always excellent; I never miss dining here when I'm in San Diego. Extensive and varied menu; it's hard to choose. Food and service are consistently outstanding. It's also a pretty restaurant. My favorites are the Pappardelle with Ragu and the Rigatoni Carbonara. The wine list has good selections in moderate price ranges. I can't find a negative thing to say!
