This is simply the very best restaurant in the gaslamp. Best food, best service, best gaslamp location, best everything. Order the Ahi, it is heavenly. I have been going there for 15 years, I have had most of their menu, all is exceptionally great. Their homemade pasta is to die for.
Osteria Panevino is a great little Italian Restaurant in the heart of the Gaslamp district with excellent food and many choices on the menu. There is also a large wine list. Make reservations ahead of time. The place was full on a Friday evening at 6 PM. Our group of 8 people thoroughly enjoyed the food and service.
Pleased with attentive service and delicious food (veal parm, lamb ravioli in mushroom sauce). Wine & food prices on the high side, but still a good value given the quality of food and service.

Food was wonderful. Pizza was outstanding. Pasta was fresh and service was attentitive but not over bearing. Get the gelato if your still hungry was very good as well. Would definitely return

I could not have been more pleased. Our waiter, Guiseppe, was outstanding, handling our group of 12 with aplomb. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I will return next time I'm in San Diego.
A large group of professional colleagues (13 of us) recently had dinner at Osteria Panevino. The food was delicious and the service was great. We all ended up having bites of each other's meals as the portions were generous. Every meal on the table was tasty. The only small glitch was trying to pay at the end. I certainly understand the difficulty and inconvenience of running 13 different bills. Reading the reviews and the menu, I was expecting food of higher quality. Dinner was certainly good, and the service was very nice, but I wasn't impressed...With all the choices in the Gaslamp Quarter, I am not sure I'll return to Panevino.
