It is one of my "go to" places when we come from out of town. I just LOVE it! the food is delicious, and the waiters are Italian, which adds to the ambiance.
Nice restaurant located in the busy gaslamp district. Everything we ordered was excellent and the prices weren't too bad. The wine list could have been a little better, but all in all a very good experience.
While attending a conference we used open table rather than concierge for dining. Reviews were reliable and food was excellent. Location was ideal. Great patio dining with excellent seafood and pasta specials. Service was excellent and did not feel rushed as we enjoyed sights and sounds of Gaslamp District.
My husband and I have dined at Panevino for quite a few years now (almost 10 to be exact.) One of the best authentic Italian restaurants in downtown San Diego, right in the heart of the Gaslamp District. Even their servers speak Italian! One of my only gripes is the lack of space! On busy nights it sometimes feels like you're sitting on top of the people next to you and can practically join in their conversation. Other than that, this is definitely go to spot for REAL authentic Italian.
Had a wonderful outdoor table in the shade. The wait staff was charming but not overly attentive. The food was really wonderful. What made it exceptional was a guy playing guitar and singing in front of the restaurant. He was good and he covered some of my faves. Great weather, great music, great food. It was a wonderful dining experience. Although, if I were too go again and have the spinach ravioli, I might ask for half the sauce - it's destroying my diet!
Wonderful Italian Restaurant right in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. My lobster ravioli and my wife's pollo toscano were both well prepared. We were able to get last minute reservations without a problem. As it turns out, we had dined at this same restaurant several years ago, but didn't recall the name until we entered. It was like coming back home!
I dined here with my boyfriend when he came to visit from Palm Springs. We were looking for a special little romantic place to enjoy a nice dinner. This place was perfect! We dined late, so there weren't too many people still there. The food was excellent! The server was a little distant, but he definitely didn't do anything wrong. The wine list was nice. The by the glass list could be longer. I am gluten free and they offered plenty of options for me! We really enjoyed it.
We went for my husband's birthday while traveling in San Diego. We arrived 15 mins late for our reservation, but they were very understanding and had held our outside patio table for 6 people---on a Saturday night/full restaurant. Appetizers were great: bruschetta and carpaccio. I had the pasta special (spaghetti with seafood) and it was incredible. Service was very good as well. Will definitely return to this spot!
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous from the minute we walked in! We were a group of 7 and our table was extremely comfortable! Our waiter was excellent, informative and attentive! The food was to die for-everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.. From filet migon to risotto to salmon to ravioli to gnocchi, etc! Don't miss out on this restaurant!!!!
