We used to love this place. As of lately it's absolutely rude front desk personnel if anyone even answers the phone. Trying to do a simple task such as ordering your dogs food seems to be too difficult for this staff to handle. Piss poor service. We will be taking our business elsewhere! Don't go here!

After taking various pets to Pacific Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years, this happened: our dog was attacked at a dog park, and although I couldn't see any obvious wounds, I called and asked if he could be looked at. No, was the answer. A curt No. When I explained the situation, I was told that even if they had an appointment, we would have to go to an emergency vet. OK, I said, Where is there an emergency vet, I asked. "You can Google it." End of call. If that's your idea of compassionate service, then this is your place... read more

My family has been taking our pets to Pacific Veterinary Hospital for more than 50 years. We have always been very happy with the care our dogs and cats received and we have been very satisfied. However, recently the office staff made a serious scheduling mistake that means we will have to postpone treatment for one of our cats. This will also cost us extra money. While the scheduling mistake was annoying, the real problem came after, when the office person who contacted us was extremely rude. She lied about what had happe... read more

My husband and I recently moved to Portland from Seattle and were searching for a new a vet. We located one close to the neighborhood, Pacific Veterinary Hospital. The first time my husband went to PCV, he stated the receptionist was very rude and we gave her the benefit of the doubt since everyone has bad days. However, when we returned for the second time (this time it was I who has the interaction), the receptionist was extremely discourteous and unpleasant to speak to. There were no salutations, didn't want to explain wh... read more

Not sure why the people answering the phones here have such disregard for their customers but they always seem annoyed when I call. Quite the contrast to the vets, who always seemed so nice. Unfortunately my rabbits Dr retired and they're no longer able to fill his prescription, which is unavoidable but they still handled it very poorly. Instead of giving me notification so I could get a new vet lined up before my rabbits prescription ran out, I had to find out when calling for a refill. Supposedly they stopped seeing rabbit... read more

I am so disgusted with the way I was treated. With the way my missy was turned away when the time had come to put her down . They had no time . Unbelievable ! They were rude on top of it . I have taken my pets there for years . Fortunately my daughter contacted her vet and they were able to accommodate our needs . I would never return to this clinic and highly recommend you don't either

Business response:

Dear Kristin P, Please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Missy. I am sorry to hear of your experience with our office, my office manager Julie Sparks would love to have the opportunity to talk with you. Durning Covid times we are working hard to try and have availability for our clients in need. Please call our office at 503-246-3373

I have been a client of Pacific Veterinary since 1997 and without exception they've been predictably reliable and provided the most compassionate and high quality care I've ever seen from veterinarians (I was raised on a farm with lots of animals). The vets are extraordinary!. They understand pets are like family, are flexible, offer choices and consistently collaborate and communicate effectively re the recommendations for care! I contacted them in tears this morning as my cat had a severe trauma to his tail and needed imm... read more

I could never recommend this Veterinary office to anyone. They have a free initial consultation advertised on Yelp. When I arrived I mentioned the deal and was told to leave a review. I composed a review while waiting in the exam room. When the visit was done, I mentioned this to the clerk and showed her the coupon, which I took a screen shot of. I was told that she would remove the 68$ exam. Next I got a bill for around 300$. I did not ask for a receipt because I felt they were trustworthy. Was this naive of me, yes. Does m... read more

I established residency with PVH out of the convenience of proximity considering that I am a very aware pet owner that seeks medical attention for their beloved pup for symptoms that others may consider minutia. After having moved across town, I chose to continue to use them as my veterinarian of choice because of an assumed investment in both my pup and my well being. It had been a tumultuous few weeks for my pup and me after emergency bladder surgery and the diagnosis of a rare disease that left him with a finite diet and ... read more

Business response:

Sarah, We understand how difficult and emotionally exhausting it can be when a family member is ill, has to be hospitalized, or have surgery. It is clear to all of us that you have great compassion and love for your pup and all he has been through. We always want to help our clients navigate the health care issues of their four legged family members. That is why after meeting you and your pup, and learning of the rare type of crystals your pup had, Dr. Bukowski spent time consulting with an internal medicine special... read more
