My favorite vet here, Dr. Nolte, retired so I will not be going back. The other vets are only interested in getting as much money out of you as possible. I feel robbed after my last visit. It will be my last. Make sure you get a quote upfront... they are 4 times more expensive than any vet I've been to!

Business response:

Donna, I wanted to take this opportunity to respond to your review. We too were saddened at Dr. Nolte's retirement, however the cost to provide you with a CVI to Hawaii would have been the same regardless of which doctor filled out the paperwork. As you know, there are many rules and regulations when traveling with a pet into HI these precautions have been established to protect the islands fragile eco system from diseases and parasites that do not currently exist there. Our staff and veterinarians here invest time a... read more

My family has been bringing our pets (cats and dogs) here off and on for about 20 years. Throughout this time, several of the doctors have been mildly condescending, indifferent, and/or rushed when our animals have been sick. This is the primary reason we have strayed from this veterinary hospital in the past, but it seems we always end up coming back because it's a 5 minute drive from home. I recently had a particularly upsetting experience with Dr. Grossen. Unfortunately she is part owner so I don't believe my complaints t... read more

I have an older dog who is beginning to decline in health. When he begins to have issues, he needs typically needs to be seen by a vet in 24-48 hours. A two week wait time to see a vet is unacceptable (my dog was not a new patient). I told the receptionist at Pacific Veterinary this and asked if there were any slots in the next week. She instructed me to go to an emergency facility if I can't wait two weeks. I reminded her that it is not me that is being impatient. It is my 12 year old terrier who will suffer for two weeks. ... read more

Yelp! That's essentially the sound that my dog is making tonight/this morning (it's 4am) after getting him back from a boarding stay with PVH. The Hospital/Vet called me after the first night that they found him "splayed" out on the floor and helped him up, after who knows how long. She asked if he was on pain meds, his history, etc. He's an older dog that has difficulty getting up, but that's about it. In no way was I prepared to see him in the condition he was in when I picked him up 2 days later. He couldn't walk! W... read more

I have been to this vet over 5 times and each visit is worse than the previous. Cons: - Too long of wait. - Care more about making money than your pet. - Subpar service. - No magazines or places to sit in exam room. - Non-friendly staff - Very tiny exam rooms. Pros: - Good location. I won't be going there again and would rather drive to Vancouver, WA to go to a vet who actually cares about your pet. Case and point, they overcharge for basic services and typically do not tell you the cost before they perform the service.... read more

There is nothing particularly wrong with this vet, but nonetheless after one visit I found myself searching for somebody else. We brought one of our cats there for a regular check-up in December and were helped after about 15 minutes. The main vet who looked him over and gave him shots was pleasant, but she moved through everything very quickly and didn't seem at all concerned with my cat's fear. It didn't seem like she gave a very thorough examination. I can't remember if it was the gums or ears, but there was basically onl... read more
