As of now, I have solar panels installed that are not active, and that need to be removed and reinstalled before the town will approve the installation. This will likely cause delays that will cause me to lose the solar tax credit, completely, as a result of Palmetto/PlugPV's incompetence. Be sure you call customer service. The online customer service not so much.
A terrible mistake!!! I pay more with these Solar panel with Palmetto since I had them installed, they mention nothing about or even offering a battery. With my electricity and Solar panel each month I'm always in the red paying more than I did prior in getting these Solar panel installed. I totally regret even having them installed. I had a call scheduled for this morning. Brett from your company is clearly incapable of reading or listening to his potential customers. I said I'm only interested in a ground mount. In the interest of this not getting too long, I made clear the shape of my roof will not allow enough panels to go up to make so much as a dent in my energy costs and the cost of the panels and labor would not offset the small savings on electric but would instead make it even costlier. This review is nothing to do with Palmetto, the 1st representative/ salesman we had was not completely honest with us and steered us in the wrong direction! Since the beginning of 2025, net metering in IL is done slightly different. This information was not provided to us. We were advised against a backup battery. Palmetto is the absolute worse company I have dealt with involving anything with my home. They have not kept to their word on a single thing. Their customer service team refuses to respond. You cannot get a straight answer for anything. When installing my system, they damaged the A/C ductwork in the attic, took 48 hours and me threating to throw the panels in the street to get someone out at 9:30 at night to fix it. He patched it and told ME to call an A/C service to fix it. Next day salesman called and said his boss was going to call me to take care of it and comp me for all my A/C blowing in the attic for 48 hours, that is the last I have heard from anyone.
