My dog spent only three nights at the boarding facility. He has never had a problem boarding in the past. My dog has been very sick since I picked him up from boarding. I called the facility and they did not have any record of him being sick while he was there. Two days has passed and he has lost weight and is dehydrated. I had to spend an extra $200 to take him to the vet for fluids and medication. It was been a very disheartening experience.
This review is only for the vet/medical care. All they see here is $$$$ they dont care about your dog. I know pender pushes a lot of unnecessary things but have found some good doctors in the mix at the main location in Fairfax. Do not bring your dog to the Chantilly location it's a joke. I'll stick to the Fairfax location for now...even though our fav doctor has relocated.
$130 a night for a JAIL cell. I went to go visit my dogs and you can quite obviously tell that they have been soaking in their own urine. They claim to take them outside 5 times a day but I truly have hard time believing that. My dogs have clearly been neglected here.
I thought it would be perfect to begin boarding my dog at Pender Pet Retreat since he is in the care of a great vet at Pender in Fairfax. My dogs first boarding experience was two months ago. My husband and I had a travel delay in Paris, and were not going to be able to pick up our dog until the following day because our flight was rescheduled. Zero stars should be an option for companies like Pender. Save yourself money and stress-- avoid Pender. While they've gotten excellent reviews, our pet transport experience was awful. For those moving to Turkey, this review includes Sumerman- the local shipping broker that Pender coordinated with. Our worst kennel experience ever. Before dropping off our Ridgeback, we called to make sure that they had received all of our documentation and that everything was in order. They said everything was good to go. Upon arrival, however, the manager informed us, rather rudely, that Kita was missing a shot, which no other kennel has asked us for in the past (influenza). Took our 12 months old beagle for boarding to this place. Called ahead and was told that they would take our dog for walks twice a day. When we took our dog to board him, I wanted to confirm that they indeed will walk our dog and then was told that they normally don't walk the dogs unless you pay extra. I am commenting on the air shipment service. Recently my family moved overseas and we brought our dog. The reviews looked good and I was happy that they would take care of everything for me. PenderAir advertises that they will do just that. However, this is not what they did for me. Lori, I am sure did her best, but it was not sufficient. Wish I could leave no stars at all. I am not impressed with this place. It was our first time AlMOST visit... The stuff in front desk is careless.
