In the end Nick batten & Nicholas bonoficio made it right. The initial closing documents did not reflect the final loan estimate, the contract did not include the discount. This resulted in immediate frustration & I nearly walked away. Nick batten was in constant communication with me from that point as they corrected the error & 4 days later I was able to close. I appreciate the attention after the error was raised & ultimately it worked out. It would have been better to close on time.
We had such a great experience. Carlton made everything easy and fast. I have already referred 3 loans to penny Mac from friends and family, and are all in the process of closing. Very happy and satisfied.

Good Communication and Info
All of the Penny Mac representatives I dealt with were fantastic. As the loan process progressed, Nicholas Hagen was especially noteworthy. I dealt with him the most. He kept me well-informed on the process of things and EVERY time I called him and left a message, he called me back promptly. That doesn’t happen all of the time. It is the small things I appreciate - and I really appreciate Nick Hagen and the way he does business. 5 stars for him!
They did not hassle me with repeated requests for the same documents. They explained everything in a clear way. As an existing PennyMac customer, I knew I would be dealing with a professional team to service the loan for the next 30 years and am pleased to see that the underwriting team is just as professional.

At the beginning the communication was great, but the loan was delayed 2 weeks. The last month, I had reached out several times with phone calls (left voicemails), emails (which were read) and did not hear back after repeated attempts - emails were sent to the myMac team email, Tim, and Joseph. Had to do 2 closings since PennyMac didn't send the right docs to the Title Company and didn't learn of this until a week after. Still haven't heard back from them. Unacceptable.
