Everything went very smoothly. Closed 1 month earlier than expected
I used PennyMac to refinance our home. They were very helpful throughout the process and answered all my questions in a timely manner, even with the pandemic going on. Anytime I called or emailed, there was always someone knowledgeable on the other side that could help me get answers quickly and simply. I could always count on speaking to someone that was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about the process. I recommend PennyMac on service alone, but all the other benefits are great too.
We were told they would verify the payoff with current lender before final documents were drafted, however, this was not done, which resulted in higher loan amount than needed as additional payments had been made to current lender. Felt that communication could have been better, as often we didn't know what was happening as there were long gaps between emails saying action had been "completed" ie..loan approval, and next email to advise of next step..ie..closing.
Penny Mac was amazing to work with and especially Tahirah Kelley. She was awesome to work with and made everything easy for us. I will use Penny Mac again and recommend anybody else to use them!
Excellent experience all round. Glenn was particularly helpful and attentive. Everything went smoothly and exactly on the timeline promised. Every question was answered. A thoroughly satisfactory experience. I would certainly recommend pennymac. And will continue to use them in the future.

-Failed to check in as promised -Failed to contact me at the time of day we agreed upon -Failed to make me aware of appointment cancelations for which I took time off of work (twice) -Rude and difficult to work with, very unprofessional. -Process took longer than expected (no one’s fault, I just wished I was kept in the loop) Side note: Julia Shupe my loan officer was amazing! Kind and courteous, quick to respond, very profesional.
Communication shut down after PennyMac received all our documents. I had to start calling (receiving no replies) after 2 weeks. Finally after 3 weeks Jorge called back and had no idea why our loan documents had been buried for 3 weeks since all our paperwork was done. Then we had to expedite everything in underwriting to close on time. Now I’m getting calls from the PennyMac computer telling me I’m late with my loan payment for the old loan that I was told not to pay this month. Frustrating!
