Really Good
The entire Penny Mac team was very communicative. Sometimes even crossing each other with information. However, that was much more thoughtful than being in the dark. Also, at the last moment when my closing costs changed the team went above and beyond to bring it back down to a the original number where I was much more comfortable. Its a pleasure to continue doing business with Penny Mac. Thanks again!
Communication was good but I was asked to submit the same documents over and documents that were not applicable to my situation so it got a little frustrating. The notary service was scheduled but did not show up on the scheduled agreed time. I was suppose to get an email confirmation the first time but was told that someone would just call then no call or follow up and on the day of, I called and it had to be rescheduled and I got an actual email confirmation.
It was simple and made my rate lower.
The home loan specialist on my refinance (Greg Johnston), needs a raise/bonus/promotion. The only reason I didn’t cancel the process and ended up staying with PennyMac was because of him. I spent the better half of a month trying to get in contact with Michael Tarzian and his supervisor Diego. The appraisal created issues with the loan, paperwork was inaccurate, and no one would return my calls. Mr. Johnston was great through it all with us. Despite that, I would not use them again.
My account was flagged for high apr% and my loan advisors worked quickly and efficiently to get that loan closed out and refinancing for a big difference I'd highly recommend

We started mid November and wanted to close in December. Of course December didn’t happen and they blamed it on their underwriters. So we then had to pay $2,000 mortgage for no reason because we are refinancing obviously that money went no where. Then during closing they sent me confirming emails that a notary would be coming to my house on a Saturday in January and no notary showed up because they sent the email to my title company 5:00 on a Friday and never confirmed the appointment with them.
Poor Communication, the length of time to close, the cash to close changing due to the delay
