This friendly neighborhood hangout feels like it's been around for much longer than it has. Probably because of the old black-and-white photos of Phoenix that cover the walls or the ease with which the patrons settle in for a casual meal or a drink at the bar. Whatever the reason, you will feel comfortable and welcome here. The menu features large portions of all-American mains with Southwestern twists. Pizzas and light bites perfectly complement a glass of wine, beer or cocktail from the bar.

Had not been there in a long time. It was just as great as I remembered. Will go back again very soon.
We obtained the name of the restaurant from the internet. Reservation was very easy. Accidentally, we selected the wrong date but modifying the reservation was straight forward and fast. There was sufficient parking available directly outside of the restaurant. We were a party of five and all had different food selections. In all cases the food was very good. Only the service took a bit long.
Good food, convenient location, good service. It can be a bit noisy. Don't try to drop in on a Friday evening. Very crowded at that time. The server usually offers the birthday celebrator a lovely dessert and five extra spoons. Yeah! Haven't I reached 50 characters yet?
had a surprise visit from my son and his wife. we called and got a reservation . we all had a wonderful dinner .
We celebrated Mothers' Day on the prior Saturday evening with a group of eight adults and teenaged children. We were seated in the newer expansion area of the restaurant, and the ambiance there is not quite as good as for the main part of the restaurant. Service was competent and friendly, but was (at best) leisurely, i.e. quite slow. Normally, the service here is not rushed, but moves along with no delays. Maybe this was just a bad evening. The food was great, as usual.
Staff was always busy but attentive, food was very flavorful, the wine was wonderful, price are reasonable, the whole experience is so much better than going to a national restaurant chain. You should try it, and if you have tell a friend. That's how we found out about the Phoenix City Grill, through a friend. ENJOY!
This is a favorite place of ours and has been for years. The changes to the menu and physical space have been very positive. It is always busy so reservations are recommended on weekends for sure. Happy hour has some excellent appetizer deals, and you will see a crowd that ranges from young couples with small children to the senior set as well. We love the ribs, the salmon is excellent, and the specials are usually different and yummy. I had a Corvina Sea Bass special this past visit with a peach salsa that was a lovely piec... read more
Made reservations for 5:30 (on busy Friday night) since we were going to the theater@ 8:00! Upon checking with hostess and asking for the patio I was told we needed to sit indoors as a big private party was in progress. Being escorted to our table it was about 5 minutes before the server approached & I inquired if we were in time for Happy Hour. (I'd gone on their website & checked out items on their HH and main menu.) The server indicated HH was only served in bar & patio areas which were taken. Shortly after returning to m... read more
Our Server made our evening because she was very pleasant, fun and went with the flow. I had the plank salmon that was good and the margaritas (fresh squeezed juice not the mix) were delicious!! The Restaurant was flexible and allowed us to sit and order drinks and appetizers while waiting for the rest of our party. I would recommend it and the next time I am in Phoenix because it is not far from our Pointe Hilton . Parking may be a little tight but there is room around the building.
