Basically I dropped it into the water and pressed the power button. Like in a submarine it began to fill up with water and do its thing

Our in-ground pool has no enclosure and we've been vacuuming it for 11 years. Not fun. After visiting my neighbor who has this unit, it became clear to me that I have wasted a bunch of time every week cleaning my pool while they are relaxing. Not wasting any time, I drove to my local pool supply store and purchased this Polaris 8640. No regrets! In fact, we like it so much, we named it "Hobson" after the butler in the movie "Arthur" who cleans up while his boss drinks all the time. Cheers!

Best purchase I’ve made in years. Very easy to use and it picks up everything! Had a problem with calcium deposits and it even picked that up. Old cleaner just pushed it around. My pool has never looked so good. I’ll never have to manually vacuum again. My only complaint is the caddy is not sturdy enough. Handle broke the first time I used it.
