Basically satisfied The pump came in a reasonable time. The only problem was that the threads were not cut properly for the cord restraint, and I need to force in a metal one that I had to buy from a hardware store. Also the quick connect hose ends supplied were male, and I needed female ends requiring purchase of unions to make it all connect easily. But the pump seems to work as advertised.
Barely lasts a year and a half (~6 months past warranty). Poorly made. Barely lasts a year and a half (~6 months past warranty). Will not buy again. This is in regards to the POLARIS PB4-60, 3/4HP 115/230V BOOSTER PUMP.
Polaris/Zodiac Breaks down too Often Based on my experience with owning Polaris/Zodiac products, it's products are simply UNREALIABLE. My Polaris ATV pool vacuum broke down after a 1.5 yr and needed complete overhaul/rebuild, which wasn't worth the price. Now, this issue with one of the booster pump. Out of the two Booster pumps I purchased, one already broke down. Bought one for me, other for my brother's pool. My brother's booster pump already is making very loud noise after a month of use. Currently, I don't know if that ... read more
Barely lasted a year. We had a hot weather spell in California last week, five consecutive days over 100 degrees and barely cooled down at night. This pump did not make it, started making horrible noises. Thought it might be the seal so I took a look. But no, it is the motor that is toast, makes grinding noise if I turn the shaft.
replaced pumed My old pump began singing to me as the bearings were starting to go. Took pump to shop and it was determined to be beyond economical repair. Found replacement pump less expensive than what the local stores were selling them for on Amazon. Ordered pump, received as advertized, installed, and it is working fine. Alot quieter than the one replaced plus it has all the latest upgrades. The one in the stores did not.
Polaris 3/4 HP Booster Pump Polaris 3/4 HP Booster pump makes much less noise that previous Poaris pump of 9 yrs old. Not hard to install if document how you remove the old pump and use pumbler's tape on all water connections.
lacks durability skimming through some of the recent posts it looks like I'm not alone. This pump lacks any kind of durability. I purchased this July 23, 2012 and it is already dead. This is definitely not typical of the pumps I have used for the main or auxiliary on the pool. Quite a disappointment. Certainly looking for other options at this point. Considering the thing runs a small fraction of the time in comparison to the other pumps, this seems a quality manufacturing problem.
no warrenty help Very disappointed,I purchased a polaris PB4-60 booster pump on dec 7 2011,it is now june 20 2012 and can not get them to honor 12 month warranty.I have emailed them all the information on the warranty several times and they refuse to help.I saved $3.35 buying the pump from them,I would have been better off buying the pump local
misleading picture I bought this product based on the pictures to replace my pump. It showed my old pump pictures so I bought it. It arrived and it was a different model.
