Pump is great, accessory hoses not at all. The attachment hoses for the pump were extremely difficult to work with. I ended up using the hoses from the pump that I replaced. Instructions were clear enough, but the connectors just didn't work at all.
Good Buy if You want to Purchase 6 per Year Lasted less than 60 days before impeller was stripped. Too long to return to Amazon (30 days) and there is no manufacturer's warranty unless installed by pool professional. Therefore, waste of money and time to install. I would recommend another manufacturer.
Just bought a second PB4-60 in the past 2 weeks. Just bought a second PB4-60 in the past 2 weeks. I had a previous one which lasted over 12 years. BUT when I an electrician hooked it up it would run for less than one minute and shut off (no circuit breaker tripped, no overheating, just the pump itself shut off). Returned this pump (thanks to Amazon who pretty much forced the seller to exchange it) and got a second one, hooked it up myself and had same problem!!! Faulty parts? This is the second pump I have ordered. BOTH of them overheat, shut down, and will come back on once they have cooled down. My original pump is the same brand/model that lasted for over 10 years. This is a "newer" model, but obviously, not better.
Pump started getting really loud after 4 months Very poor quality. I consider this a lesson learned and will buy locally next time. Pool guy says the motor needs to be replaced. Do not buy this motor, spread the word so others don't waste their money.
Zodiac PB4-60 Polaris Booster Pump Had the pump installed and so far it's good! Since my pool system had the hard PVC pipe connections, we did not use the enclosed soft rubber hose. Have no complaints whatsoever. Time will tell. The pump installed when my pool was built in 2011 only lasted less than 3 full years. I have hopes that this one will last much, much longer!!
Motor Motor does not run quiet. Grinding. Sounds like it's going out. Get what you pay for. Buy the better one.
Don't buy it for the easy connection Great pump so far, the the "easy connections" are a joke. You will need to buy some hose clamps to ensure that the connections stay in place.
Better to buy this than the quieter Halcyon version. I had a 3 year old booster pump that was the quieter, more expensive model (the Halcyon model). I liked the idea of quieter and could afford the extra premium. This pump developed a crack in the plastic plate, and since the pump was relatively new and in good condition, I went to find a replacement plate.
