To much noise!!!!!! I've been working on and installing pools for over 20 years, and have installed hundreds of Polaris pool cleaners. In the last two years, I have purchased, for my customers, this Zodiac motor, to replace the original Polaris motor. Apparently Zodiac has purchased the Polaris name. This motor makes 75% more noise than the original Polaris motor!!!! I have one, that is one year old, in a electric motor repair shop, for a replacement bearing, to try and make this thing run quiet, like it should. Either they ... read more
2nd pump in 2 years, both out of warranty...Very poor customer service. This is the Second Polaris pump I've had to replace in 2-years; both of which have failed. The first pump was 2-years old and out of warranty... Purchased a new pump in September 2012 after the season, not realizing 12-month warranty from date of purchase (my mistake there). The pump was installed in May 2013, only ran it a few times during the season and was uninstalled in September 2013 where it was stored for the winter. In April 2014, when we opened ... read more
replaced old pump perfectly. Arrived in 1 day with prime! This pump is easy to install (watched a youtube video) [...] The only thing is the softube quick connects that come with this pump do not slide over the flange barb enough to put retainer clip on. Don't kill yourself trying to put them on. The hose fits snugly and securely enough and will not come loose.
No Warranty There is no warranty on this pump. Articles describing how you can repair are wrong. Amazon is through with it once sold. You have to go to Polaris. Read their warranty on their site. Must be installed by professional. No parts sold to individuals. THEREFORE...you have no warranty in spite of anything said on this site.
DIY Switch I ended up switching an 8 year old booster pump. The wiring was the same therefore that was the easiest. I did not end up using the included hose and clips. I did try to put one end on, which has a male 3/4" PVC fitting. It was next to impossible to put this on without tools. I opted to go to the local hardware store and get the appropriate fittings and PVC pipe, cost of less than $5.00 and re-do the PVC connections. Ended up getting a new booster pump when the local pool company was going to charge $100 just to c... read more
SEIZED UP in less than one year and Zodiac-Polaris DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTY REPLACEMENT without expensive service call!! SCAM!!! COMPLETE RIP OFF!! This is a piece of junk! It seized up in less than a year. The previous one lasted over 7+ years. Zodiac/Polaris will not replace the unit unless you first hire an expensive contractor and they DO NOT PAY for labor or a service call. The labor is likely more expensive than the pump = Warranty is worthless and COMPLETE RIP OFF!! Do not buy this poorly manufactured, poorly supported... read more

Very Dissapointed! I had a professional pool service install this pump and he said the shaft does not turn freely. It seems to be in a bind. I am returning the pump for a refund. Very disappointed as this was going to save me about $150.
Works, but not impressed. Just installed this pump and my comments are: 1. The motor was factory wired for 230v; however wiring diagrams for both 110v and 230v are clearly indicated on the motor casing which made the reconfiguration to 110v easy. 2. The so called quick connect/disconnects are anything but "Quick". After repeated tries, I had to ditch those quick connect/disconnects and plumbed it with PVC pipe and fittings. It is a great idea; however, Polaris should come up with a better design. Do not waste time with those... read more
