I love the Polaris VRX iQ with the ultra fine mesh filter addition. It captures most of the sand and silt. This unit is too large to clean the stairs but I can sweep those.

We had a jet powered Polaris first and it was frustrating seeing it stuck in the corner or the deep end. We still had to hand vacuum every week. So we just love this Vac!! Easy to use and never gets stuck- he’s so smart we named him Einstein. Wish we would’ve bought it a couple years ago.

I love it but the cleaner does not climb the steps

Robotic cleaners have a difficult time with steps and benches, as they can’t tell if it’s the top of the pool. We recommend regular brushing of the steps, and once the debris is dislodged, the cleaner can take care of it at the bottom or sides of the pool. Rosey is my 2nd Polaris (1st one lasted 5 years but was almost as expensive to fix as replace). First the not so good. cord still gets tangled, the debris filter isn't fine enuf to filter out the "cloudy" stuff in the pool (a little blue stuff in the pool every once in a while takes care of that), and it can't get to the rounded corners of my odd shaped pool (neither could any other cleaner). The Polaris VRX iQ+ has been amazing with cleaning our pool. We had a smaller version that was good but would get stuck on our bottom drain and spin until you tugged on the line, which meant basically watching the entire clean cycle. This unit just keeps going and vacuums the entire pool.
