Jason arrived promptly and proved to be knowledgeable and professional. He began with an assessment of my 3-story townhouse and then commenced the procedures. He had to cut two access ports into the ducts near the fan, but this was done quickly and effectively. I called and spoke with Laurie who scheduled an appointment at my preferred time. She called back to say there might be a conflict and could they do a Saturday instead. I said yes we could but preferred the original appt time. She said she would see if she could shuffle things around to accommodate our original appt. The reason I hired them was because they are on Angie's list. They were on time and worked efficiently. I felt very comfortable with their explanations. They were very courteous. Their prices seemed high than others, but you get what you pay for. They have a special truck that they use that has a specialized vacuum that most companies don't have. Great job explaining service when I initially contacted them. Technician was early for scheduled appointment. He explained everything, including how much time it would take, activities to be performed, inspected house for all ducts, and identified any possible issues prior to cleaning(e.g., duct register painted shut). Finished on time, inspected work prior to having me walk-through. Overall excellent. All air ducts cleaned; dryer vent cleaned.
Overall, pretty good. The work was performed in a professional manner. Some debris did get blown around inside the house that needed to be cleaned after the technician left. However, I expect that is par for the course and we had prepared for the need to clean up after the work was performed. I had thought that I was also going to have my chimney cleaned and inspected as well, but it appears that this service was not scheduled concurrently and I am now trying to reschedule for the chimney inspection and cleaning. I called them up, got the price, and scheduled the appointment. The technician called to see if it was ok to arrive earlier, I said it was. He explained in detail what he would be doing, it took a couple of hours. He also did the dryer vent, I was surprised when he said it was in bad shape, and happy that I got it done! The only thing I wasn't expecting was the dust and particles that got dispersed during the cleaning, it was all over the place. The heating sensor on my dryer went out. The tech from Vienna Appliance suggested having the vent cleared because it appeared to be very clogged. The heating ducts had been cleaned two years ago and I thought the dryer vent would've been included especially since out all the ducts/vents in the house, the most likely to be clogged up would be the dryer vent. I called to make the appointment. Since it was for a house I'm renting out, I gave my credit card info (which wasn't charged until after the service was done) to them and gave my tenant's cell phone to set up the appointment with directly. They called her right away and scheduled it for a few days later. Her comments were: Jason said he talked to you already to let you know what was going on with the dryer vent. Everything went great. He cleaned the chimney quickly and cleanly, explained a small problem with part of our fireplace (but didn't try to sell anything-just informed us to keep an eye on it) and gave us a lot of good information on care and maintenance. I'm guessing at the $125 figure since my boyfriend paid for it, but I recall that number being tossed around. Contact them for an accurate price. Cleaned chimney on move-in to new house.
