We had a couple of the chef's tasting menus and a couple of steaks. The rib-eye was ordered medium rare and it came out medium. They fired a new one and it came out rare. All of the "australian wagyu" was grisly and poorly cooked and very low quality. Nobody at our table ended up having the steak items. The manager removed those items from our checks, but it was a let down. Our server, despite being new, was fantastic. We went to Provision for Devour Indy. We were extremely disappointed. The bread was terribly hard to start. The chowder was nothing but corn with a few small pieces of meat. Two people in our party had the New York strip steak. It was barely a steak and it was full of fat. The mashed potatoes that came on the side were cold. To clarify, when taking into consideration the location, menu, and, especially, pricing, Provision is the type of restaurant I would consider a fine-dining establishment, but, on my last two visits, I would consider my experience anything but that. When paying $300 (including tip) for drinks and dinner for two, which is what we did for my birthday a year ago, I wouldn’t expect words like “fine” to come to mind, but the entire experience was underwhelming and, overall, a disappointment. Last night was our 20th anniversary and both my husband and I tried to surprise each other by booking reservations at one of our favorite restaurants… Provision. It was cute when we realized we had both booked the same place. We live in Avon and only make it to Provision about twice a year, so we always make an overnight at Ironworks and take the time to enjoy each other and our meals, which have always been fabulous. We love coming to Provision, have been there several times. Everything was wonderful, except for the value. It was way overpriced for what we received. The food was good, but not up to the value that we were charged.

The food was excellent with the exception of the potato cake side which didn’t have as much flavor as i expected. Lamb was awesome, ribeye fantastic, crab and corn chowder really good, mashed potatoes that came with the meal were heavenly. Service was slow, water glasses and wine (@$60/glass) could have been filled up more often. Waited a long time for before dinner drinks. Waiter couldn’t recommend a salad because “i don’t eat salad”, he could have said “most people like….” Would have expected better service when you spend ... read more

I put on my reservation that it was my friend Geoff's 50th bday It was never mentioned or acknowledged. That was disappointing.
