I have been very impressed with the care given to my stepmother during the Covid-19 crisis. Despite the home having a resident with the virus after a hospital visit the staff have managed to prevent other residents from contracting the disease. When visiting was prohibited the staff facilitated contact by taking a mobile phone to my stepmother and also arranged a video call so that we could see each other. My mother came to Rashwood Care Home on respite after a fall, having been dead against going into any kind of care home, with a couple of weeks she decided that she liked it there and would like to stay. The staff are extremely friendly and caring and this helped mum to settle in easily. She loves the activities and the social events and enjoys mixing with the other residents at mealtimes and in the beautiful garden. The anguish and devastation endured by care homes during quarter one and quarter two of 2020 needs no further detail here and Rashwood Care Home was not immune to the traumatic impact of Covid 19. Rashwood management and nursing staff acted immediately and my mother was one of a few residents who had to isolate as a precaution for 14 days. The staff are exemplary and are the very best advert for Rashwood. The facilities are also excellent and very well maintained. It is a very nice place to be if this level of care is needed, the staff work hard at making life as normal and enjoyable as possible.

My Mum has been living at Rashwood since January 2020. She was immediately made to feel welcome and to our surprise, she decided that she wanted to stay. For many years before she had struggled at home and I think the care and activities at Rashwood made her realise she could relax and enjoy being looked after. My grandad spent time in Rashwood for respite following a knee replacement. Unfortunately during that period of time my nan also died. The care and compassion that everybody there showed to my grandad and the family was exceptional. He couldn't have been in a better place at such an upsetting time. I cannot thank everybody enough, from the reception staff, cleaners, handyman, health care assistants, nurses and entertainment staff. You all do an incredible job.

A major step-up from all other care homes that we have seen and experienced. This is "home" for my father.
