The dealership sent me a text with no context asking me to approve charges of nearly 1,000. Later, it was revealed that because some people were having the diagnostic done but then not following through with services, Jeep had started making people essentially put down a deposit. A) this something about the cost or quality of their service b) other places will do a diagnostic for free c) it feels like it criminalizes paying customers.
