Can't recommend this place enough! Dr. Lazarus and Dr. Meenan go above and beyond and I am so thankful to have found this practice. I have been using them for 10+ years. Dr. Lazarus is an amazing surgeon and a very knowledgeable vet. When my dog got cancer he provided my dog the same treatment plan as the vet team at Cornell for a fraction of the price. Sold. We had been searching for a vet and my girlfriend referred me to Rippowam as one of my dogs had been limping. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was exactly the right place to be. EVERYONE there is super friendly - not fake friendly, but genuinely friendly. The receptionists are extremely helpful and you can tell they like their jobs! I had used Rippowam Animal Hospital for the last 10 years. I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this place is in terms of the staff and facilities. I've been meaning to write this review for months but had trouble whenever I started to. One aspect that you may not see in reviews is about when you have to say goodbye to your Furbuddy/best friend. The BEST emergency veterinary care in Fairfield County. Twice as good and half the price. They saved the life of our 8 year-old golden-doodle, Amber - by performing emergency surgery to correct "Bloat" (which is the second leading cause of death in large dogs - after cancer), removing her spleen and spaying her - she has made a complete recovery. We have been using them since we came to Stamford in 1999 and adopted 2 pound puppies Lab Mixes. Dr Meenan was the vet for them at the Shelter and we are glad we stayed with her. Those two loves of our life have moved on and we are still there with her for our dog which was a rescue from when he was 14 lbs to now and he is 70+. Give them a try!

best staff and vet techs around. The veterinarians themselves are wonderful and very patient. I wouldn't bring my little puppy anywhere else. Love it

I have been going to Ripowam Animal Hospital for about 7 years and they are all great. Everyone is down to earth and personable. They are great with both my cats and dogs. The office is clean and comfortable. I plan on moving south next spring and I hope I find such an honest and friendly place such as this.

I have been going to Ripp for the past 16+ years and won't go anywhere else unless Dr. L Lazarus recommends I go. He is amazing and has saved the life of my old dog on more occasions than we probably both care to remember. The front office and backroom staff all are outstanding. If you love your pet like I love mine, hands down the place to bring them.

I would recommend Rippowam Animal Hospital to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat. We see Dr. Shutts and he is always a pleasure to see. He is great with our dog and makes her feel very comfortable. He is also extremely thorough and takes the time to hear your concerns and explain everything in detail.
