I have a vet in Fairfield that is closer to me that I usually use, however, I was in Stamford when my dog started limping one day after running around for a while. I called every vet in Stamford and Rippowam was able to fit me in before all the other vets so I took her here. I am so glad I did. They took some Xrays which showed that she had a partial ACL tear. They told me she was most likely going to need surgery. I asked for a copy and sent them to my regular vet for a second opinion. They said the same thing. So I sc... read more
Dr Lazarus is an amazing diagnostician - this was a tricky case. So knowledgeable. Saw things other vets missed. Did not recommend any extraordinary measures for my beloved old dog. Spent a lot of time explaining. Very reasonable fee for the care we received.
Great team working at Rippowam. Twice now they saw me 'last minute' in the evening and were most helpful! Plus the docs went to Cornell!
When my vet retired after 20 years of caring for my animals, I never thought I would be able to find a replacement. Got to say that Dr. Lazarus is OUTSTANDING!!!!!! HE gives me the sophisticated medical answers I am cable of understanding, never rushes a visit, even gave me advice before I ever picked up my first dog in 40 years from her breeder. Trust him completely!!! So thankful that a friend recommended him to me!
This was my first time visiting this office, and I received an appointment the same day I called, and saw the vet almost right away. I didn't feel rushed, like you sometimes do at larger offices. The veterinarian told me that the reason my cat is putting on weight even though he's on a regimented diet and active is because the prescription food he is on is highly caloric. I would have thought this would be something the original veterinarian who prescribed the diet would have mentioned, considering he was also concerned abou... read more
After moving to Stamford from California, we brought our beloved older dog here when she got sick. They took good care of her and helped us give her at least another year of a happy life. (We were there A LOT over the past year & a half, so we know them well!) She saw Dr. Meenan (and occasionally Dr. Lazarus), who was always willing to take the time to talk to us and explain everything going on. They are also always great about returning phone calls and making time to see you & your pet if something urgent comes up. ... read more
Dr. Lazarus is a very skilled surgeon and really cares about the animals. The rest of the staff is very caring, too. My girl cat had spindle cell sarcoma and he was able to remove it with clean margins. My only gripe is that they (both doctors) recommended against a biopsy, so Dr. Lazarus did not know to go deep enough to get all of the cancerous cells the first time. So my cat had to go through the procedure twice, which I was not too excited about. But the results are good, the prices reasonable (though not cheap by... read more
THE BEST VET CARE IN LOWER WESTCHESTER/FAIRFIELD COUNTY! Plain and simple: Dr. Lazarus saved my cat's life. The staff here is so caring (Dr. Meenan is a doll, too!) and they really know what they are doing. I own 6 pets (3 cats and 3 dogs) and I probably spend more time here than anywhere else. One of my babies is 15 yrs old and has a severe heart condition, but thanks to Dr. Lazarus and his team he hasn't been this happy in years (they call him their "miracle child"). Not only are they exceptional veterinarians, but t... read more
