There is a no phone policy that is active for the first five days of your stay, though there are phones in the commons and clients here with cellphones already, if someone really needed to use the phone? Doesn’t make any sense at all, they don’t have everyone separated based on their needs, and there is very little organization and very little direction and communication leaving you pretty clueless at your arrival. The men are in separate dorms but interact with and mingle with the women here and most are often extremely ina... read more

TA Tarshae shared her story with me and it really made me feel hopeful, like I wasn't the only one in this situation. You have to come with an open mind here. It can be scary, this was my first time in treatment. But I was able to get a diagnosis that I didn't know I had and I learned how to manage my diagnosis and identify my emotions and triggers as well as medication and tools to work through them. When I got here I felt like a piece of shit and I learned that its ok to love myself. Recovery starts with me and staying sob... read more

Ta Randy was really cool. He broke things down for me to help me understand the process. He took his time to explain everything to me which was really helpful. Dr. Fahs would always stop to check on me when he would see me in passing and he helped me with ordering my medications to make sure I had what I needed. He looked into my suggestions for alternate medications so I didn't have to go straight to a heavy medication. He helped me advocate for myself. TA Frank is cool as shit, I really enjoy talking to him. I enjoyed the ... read more

This is a government backed drug dealer. The website is horribly misleading. The facility was nice but dirty. I had problems from the instant I arrived through the locked gait. I had my charger withheld, I wanted to leave immediately, after I was told I could have a ride to the airport the following morning. 135 dollars for a taxi, service was awful, would not let me have access to phone book or anything to get an Uber. I was basically held against my will. All the time they were insisting I would withdraw and needed doped up... read more

My nephew was the one we tried to admit. Not once ever was it mentioned to us to prepare for hours and hours of waiting before actually being taken back to your room. These patients are anxious and scared and WITHDRAWING so the smoother the admissions would probably be great. Same exact questions are asked by every single person that approaches you... how long have you used how much do you drink what do you drink when do you drink... very understandable... however NOT 17 DIFFERNET times. No one was nice or smiled... He was t... read more

BEWARE!!!! River Oaks and their admissions employee, Jeremy, will trick your family member into coming to River Oaks for treatment. My son's Counselor and his girlfriend worked with Jeremy for days leading up to his transfer to River Oaks and NEVER did Jeremy mention anything about an upfront cost, NEVER! Jeremy had my son's insurance ran and Never gave the slightest mention of any fees to the Counselor or his girlfriend. My son was then transferred two hours away from home and dropped off at River Oaks from his current deto... read more

I was there for detox, 9 days. They mixed up my meds twice, tried to give me a med I wasn't on, then tried to give me a night med in the AM. The food was awful, saw 2 overdoses, someone climbed a tree and wanted to jump, people would leave to get alcohol from the convenience store, all in all a complete mess with no consistent rules. Each day brought rule changes that added to the incredible stress of detox. This place is not managed well and could use new people at the top. The nurses were doing their best with a bad system... read more

Nurse Tiffany was always really nice and funny, she made me laugh when I was in a bad mood. Dr. Murphy has a calming presence and gets shit done. Dr. Fahs has a very good way of explaining the medications to you and exactly how they affect your brain. He helps you understand how medications interact to help you make an informed decision about medication. He really sets you up for success. They also helped me with my tapers. The doctors work with you about your options. I suffer from agoraphobia and my therapist did her best ... read more

The rooms on the east dorm are humid, musty and have black mold. They will tell you is mildew to avoid taking care of it. Don't fall for it. The rooms also have no locks, so your stuff will probably get taken by other clients. My tablet was taken on day #2 by an unstable client. Clothes were taken from drawers, full laundry bags went missing, phones and even food disappear. The facility's ridden with Covid19, even if you take all precautions (hand washing/sanitizing, mask, disinfecting your room) you can still get it as the ... read more
