My therapist was good, but they are always short staffed. Many of the staff care and go above and beyond. The driver was more of a help than administration. I definitely learned to work on my coping skills. I am grateful for what I did learn and friendships that I made.
The place was filthy. They have no control over the clients. They were still actively admitting clients even with positive covid cases on campus. The therapist try, but the groups are so big and many times they had to combine classes. Many of the nurses cared, but they are pulled in many directions too. The facility has potential, but needs better management. I am grateful for the triggers that I experienced, because it has made me stronger. I built some great relationships and friends I will keep for life.
After many trips to RO .. I am learning to look long term ... I have seen the highs and lows of this place. I have to put into action what I am taught
My son went here… when he came home he hadn’t changed at all. We asked what they did for him and his response was absolutely nothing. He told us about the rampant drug usage and how easy it was to get. He said there was no accountability and that management never came out of the offices. He had complaints about the food and the therapist but management never would come out of the offices to hear his complaints. We have sent him to another treatment facility and hopefully this one will care enough to help him.
River Oaks? It should be called River Jokes! I was able to score drugs anytime I wanted and did multiple times! Just had to use my cell and cash app the plug that everyone was using and he would just drop them off in the bushes. They staff was never around because they never had enough staff to cover everything. The food sucked and the therapist never had time to see me. The housing looked good at first but the place was filthy! NEVER GO THERE IF YOU WANT TO GET HELP. All you’ll get is a stay away from life.
The place is filthy.... you may see 2 housekeepers in a week. They tried to send me home with no case plan. The staff run around because they are always "short staffed " . You never see administration. My therapist said there was no time to address my trauma. Definitely not focused on the clients
First off… there were way to many distractions to focus on myself and really learn anything. The clients were allowed to do just about anything they wanted because the staff couldn’t keep track of everyone. Way to many clients per staff member. The drugs and alcohol was easily available there. People we’re having drugs delivered every day. Cars just drove on the property and threw it out the we window. My therapist and groups were helpful. There are days that the groups are way to big and it is hard to focus. They definitely could benefit from a more variety of meal options, other than chicken. I have learned a great amount of coping skills and made some lasting friendships, so for that I am grateful.
