These folks have been my vets on and off, depending when I was in the city, for many years. Recently I was not in NY but had an emergency with my IG. She was hospitalized and very sick. After all the test and change in diet etc. I felt I needed a second opinion so I had all of her records faxed to Riverside. My Doctor of many years Dr. Freedman was on medical leave but that did not stop them. I love this practice. I've been bringing my greyhound here for years. It is a clean, relaxed environment and Dr. Freedman is great. The staff, Serena and Jody, are wonderful and really on top of getting everything you need. I think the pricing is standard for NYC. They also have a great dental special Feb/March. Great place and me and my greyhound are happy customers.
We've been taking Tilly, our rescued terrier, to this vet group since she first came to live with us five years ago this month. She was suffering from multiple infections and malnutrition, and frankly, we weren't even sure she would survive for long. In the capable care of Dr. Freedman and his colleagues, Tilly has blossomed into a wonderfully loving, incredibly healthy dog. The entire staff at RVG has been helpful, courteous, and involved in her care. As long as I live in NYC, Tilly will remain a patient at RVG.
As expected for an UWS vet. A bit pricey, but excellent service. The vet was very friendly and seemed very capable - spent quite a bit of time going over every little issue with my newly adopted dog. He even mentioned that getting all his vaccines up to date would be pricey and suggested which ones were most urgent vs. which could be delayed. I have been going to Riverside Vets since the late 90's. Dr. Raclyn was the only vet who took care of my then young cat's chronic asthma without using steroids every six weeks - he changed her diet and gave her holistic supplements. She was fine thereafter. I have a top vet around the corner from me and I still take my new cat (I also got my new cat at Riverside Vets) to the fabulous doctors (Raclyn and Freedman are my vets) and staff at Riverside Vets. They have cared for my dog (Baldur!) for the last 8 years. With honest love and affection. He has to drop in every time we pass the darn place. He loves them. If that ain't a 5 star review from him - then I don't know what to tell you. Sometimes they are crazy busy. Be patient and they will love you extra for it.
Great vet, although my dog has always been pretty healthy. I have gone for routine vaccines and random issues (e.g. over-drinking/over-peeing). The staff is friendly (except for one rude person who works there - I think her name is Vanessa) and helpful, and the offices are very clean. I have never really had to wait for my appointment more than 10 minutes.
My experiences with Riverside Vet Group honestly couldn't get any better. My dog Finn had an accident a few weeks back and Riverside Vet Group took the best care of our little pup. He was treated quickly, effectively, and the vet's and vet techs were especially kind. I couldn't have been happier with deciding to take Finn here. We had numerous checkups and every time the entire office knew who Finn was and made sure he felt comfortable being at the Vet's office. I came here because I heard they were Holistic but the Dr immediately wanted him to start on heartworm medication and lined him up for all sorts of shots. I don't think that sounds very Holistic. Although the Dr was very nice and knowledgeable I don't think they should be calling themselves a Holistic vet. They even wanted to give him medication for something before they got the test results.
