An update to a previous review: Solar Optimum has spent a considerable amount of time trying to get me to remove my review on this and other sites (which by the way they do for anyone who posts less than a stellar review on any review site). I wish I would have gotten this much attention when things were in the install phase. I wouldn't be here writing this review. As you read positive reviews you should keep in mind there is an unknown number of removed negative reviews about Solar Optimum. They have gone as far to use ma... read more
We wish we would have never chosen Solar Optimum for our solar needs. We now wish we never had solar installed. Unfortunately we were mislead by this company's employee's. Every person we dealt with at this company either: lied, gave us the run around, or was so disrespectful it pushed me to consult with an attorney for future retaining needs. They caused so much emotional and physical distress that they even offered to refund me 1,000.00. That was just one more lie as well. Low and behold after they read my yelp review we ... read more
I'm a middle-aged homeowner, with Electrical Engineering Degree, and started my own Insurance and Financial Services Agency. I know a thing or two about electricity and consumer service... Hopefully, this one (of a handful of products) review can be helpful. I initially researched PV (solar energy) systems in 2015, from: 1. CompleteSolar ($21.7k/5.13kW=$4.34/W), 2. CleanSolar ($17.6/3.92kW=$4.49/W & $21.6k/3.84kW=$5.63/W), 3. SolarCity (poor response, no quote; acquired by Tesla in 2016), and 4. SunRun ($31.4k/3.92kW=$8.01... read more

I have faith that my solar installation was done correctly, that the inspectors, contractors, and installers did a good job, and that the quality of the product Solar Optimum provided is where it should be . But there is a reason why they get awards for installer, not for customer service. Dealing with their front office and administration was beyond horrible. The "Energy Consultant" (Account Manager) assigned to me was completely useless - from incorrect and unasked for quotes, to withholding information, to straight up L... read more
Solar Optimum gave me a contract price so I signed up with them to qualify for NEM2. Then they came up with this roof reinforcement that was necessary for before installing the system on my roof. They have a roofing division that does roof related work. Other contractors were able to install without any roof modifications. The contract price with this change went up by roughly 50%. I switched to another party and asked Solar Optimum to give me access to the application so I can still have my NEM2 status. They did not. They... read more
After talking and comparing quotes from multiple solar companies. I signed contract with Solar Optimum to install solar panels.Their prices were competitive, and the customer service was top-notch and I'm happy with the whole experience. They are best in terms of quality, performance, price and warranty. From the beginning, the Solar Optimum team answered all my questions and made the process a breeze. My sales consultant Gabriel Alvarez <gabrielalvarez@solaroptimum.com> is experienced, professional, friendly, knowledgeable... read more
Not sure how are people providing the raving reviews. My experience so far has been much less than satisfactory. Almost ten days have gone by and Mason hasn't been able to address why there are SIGNIFICANT production discrepancies: (i) their 400w Panasonic panels are quite expensive but being quoted to produce less than that of 360w ☹; and (ii) per quotes, their same size “Cadillac” system will be producing much less than that of others. IMO, either their estimates are screwed up due to some technical/design issues or they a... read more
I spoke with my dedicated sales rep and he inspired 0% confidence in working with Solar Optimum. He couldn't answer questions with precision. I think I might have known more about the solar installation process and contracts than him. When he mentioned problems with subcontractors who will be installing the panels, it was a red flag for problems to come. They also wouldn't entertain any negotiating on their prices. They were much higher than other bids on Energy Sage for the exact same products. When I asked about panel upgr... read more
