Get directionsI moved my mother to Rose Lodge in Feb 2019 as I was unhappy with her previous care home. From the moment I first went through the door, I felt comfortable and reassured. I spent the afternoon sitting with a cup of coffee and watching and listening and quickly decided that the level of care and respect afforded to residents was what I wanted for my mother. Care with kindness, cleanliness, good food, dignity and respect are what Rose Lodge offers. Sadly Mum died after only two months there, but I cannot recommend them highly ... read more
April this year was the anniversary of Mum moving to Rose Lodge for permanent care. As her daughter, I had tried to look after her but knew that a home would be best for Mum's growing needs. Rose Lodge is a wonderful place for Mum as it is a smaller care home with just 31 rooms at present. Mum has an upper floor room and receives supportive care from the staff. She is never on her own all day as people come in to deliver things or sit with her or clean the room - great housekeeping team. There is a lounge she can access as ... read more
We are very happy with the care our mother receives at Rose Lodge, the management and staff are all very pleasant and helpful. They are always doing activities for the residents and Mum has made several friends.
Lovely friendly environment a real home from home. Everyone is welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Mum is settling in really well. More like a 5-star hotel than a care home.
Rose Lodge is modern, clean and very well presented. The staff are very friendly, the food is excellent, and the many varied activities provided for the residents are fun, interesting and beneficial.
My father-in-law moved to Rose Lodge two months ago. He is very confused and can be verbally and physically aggressive. The aggression has only appeared over the last few months. I thought at first that the cost was quite high but I can honestly say it is worth every penny. My father-in-law often thinks that he is in a hotel on holiday. The management and organisation is first class and the care and support he has received from every member of staff has been excellent. No matter what sort of mood he is in he is always greete... read more
I felt really cared for by a wonderful staff who show a great deal of compassion for every resident in spite of difficult circumstances at times. They are very friendly,m flexible and willing to help with whatever needs you have, wherever possible. Activities, tun by lovely staff, are varied and appropriate to the ability of the residents. The carers work really hard to encourage participation whenever possible to the extent of collecting residents from rooms to join in. They assist with making drinks etc. The team work real... read more
My mother (now 95) has been at Rose Lodge since last June and my father (98) joined her in February. We have always been very happy with the facilities and care provided, with the staff being very caring and willing to help with specific needs. Inevitably in a care home, there can't be individual attention on tap, but my parents get a lot of personal attention and stimulation from the staff and the various activities provided. Rooms and facilities are clean and bright and food is plentiful and good, but this is only part of ... read more
My mother-in-law's dementia got to the point where she had to have specialist care and that is exactly what she gets at Rose Lodge. Every member of staff knows her no matter what their role and we are always greeted warmly and asked how we are. She is in the top floor where there are less residents and I feel she is really safe and happy there.
