The ambience and vibe at Sago is pretty cool for Encinitas. They are going for a very dark and tropical vibe, dare I say It was actually too dark but if a pricey nightclub vibe is what your look for, SAGO is it! The ceviche was fresh, spiced and delicious. Celebrated wife’s birthday at Sago after considering a few options. 100% the right choice. Very good food, cocktails, music and service. Jenny and Lamar made the night a memorable one…Thank you! We will be back to enjoy the dancing offer after 9pm.
Lovely selection of shareable plates. Great cocktail menu. Sexy vibe! Our party of 6 had a great time piled into a booth, but would also be a great date night.

Unfortunately they were out of all fish except halibut. Wagyu skewers are American Wagyu not melt in your mouth Japanese Wagyu (though $$$). Flank was better. Would be better just to call it what it is to set appropriate expectations Manager was cool about it abs gave discount

First of all, I love Sago!! My husband and I always have a lovely time when we visit. We spent New Years Eve there and loved it. I brought my cousins who are here from New York last night and though they loved Sago they complained to me about the food. One of them ordered the green salad and it was a huge plate of lettuce (too much) and not much more on there. The other ordered the halibut and we loved the flavors and the portion (good amount).
