My husband and I were excited to try Sago for dinner, especially after hearing great things and seeing the incredible transformation from the old dive bar. The decor is absolutely stunning, but that's where the positive experience ended. We had a reservation for 8 p.m. on a Thursday. Place was incredibly loud. Wants to be a club, not a restaurant. False advertising on wagyu steak (wasn’t even American wagyu.) Entrees came out thirty minutes apart, Nothing taken off the bill, nothing on the house, not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. So busy trying to be hip, they forget they’re still in the service industry.
Food was amazing and the service ended strongly. However, I was seated at my table for over 15 minutes with no server coming to even take drink orders. After the waitress came by for the first time, the service was outstanding but not a great feeling sitting around for over 15min and not even getting a server to introduce themselves.
This place has a vibe but it’s small plates, so if you’re starving maybe just go for a drink. Service was not good, waiter got drinks confused, forgot food and it was expensive.
Service was very very poor. We also did not get to try the dish we wanted because it was sold out.
We were turned away at our reservation time because a private party went long. Food portions were small and expensive. It was very loud as well. The inside was cool. Wouldn’t go back again.
*not a birthday dinner spot* For my birthday dinner I wanted a nice vibey restaurant like I’ve been to in Miami and Vegas and from photos this place looked like a decent spot but was just a nightmare. This is a Club and nit a restaurant!!! We made a reservation for 9:30, and they gave us a table close to the DJ. Before our food arrived, around 10, the music got louder, and the crowd started gathering around the DJ area to dance. They kept putting their drinks on our table and hitting it while moving and dancing. So we ate our expensive steak in this situation, surrounded by so many drunk people around our table. Had an 8:30pm reservation. Horrible service. Had to get up and ask a bartender to wait our table after waiting for 25 mins once seated.
