Natalie was amazing! Would come back just for her. So glad encinitas is getting trendier restaurants like this
Great experience overall. Atmosphere was great, good music, friendly staff, cozy. No corkage option available and the food timing between course could be improved. For a prefix menu the tried to put the course on our table at the same time but were nice and accommodating when asked to slow it down a bit. Scallops were great but the steak (a new item for them) had a lot of gristle. Still, will def return again.
Everyone was very friendly and attentive! The drinks were pretty and tasty, we ordered pineapple margaritas. The food choices were limited but everything tasted great. We shared truffle fries, (no ketchup though, sad face), the salmon medallions, very good! The tuna tartare, very good! Overall truly great experience.
This was the second time I’d been there and both times they were out of multiple items on the menu (which is already limited). Really?! The hostesses were rude and not helpful. The music was way too loud for dinner at 6:45. Practically had to shout in conversation. The first time I went, the DJ was playing chill music and at a much softer level. Service was terrible. It was a Wednesday so a bit quiet. Decor is very nice and atmosphere would have been better if busier. I imagine Friday or Saturday nights the vibe would e better.

When I first came to Sago, I rated it much higher. So I planned my friend’s birthday there on a Wednesday evening at 7 PM. Already the menu is very small, I think like 10 items. We came at seven and they were out of two of the dishes. We ended up not having dinner there, just had drinks and went across the street to Herb & Sea. Great ambiance with a San Diego nightclub vibe. Encinitas really needed this vibe because it truly doesn’t exist in North County. Great to go celebrate with friends. Get dressed up and feel like you’re in a different city! Loved it! Also had terrific cocktails
