The Saltlik in downtown Calgary was an overall good experience. The steaks were very good, well cooked and came out on time. My salad however was missing avocado, they ran out of the cheese that was supposed to come with it, I had asked for dressing on the side and it had come dressed - overall was not very pleased with this salad. Also the chicken had its skin falling off and was very oily and unappealing. Basically, if you go to Saltlik - get steak! That is clearly what they are good at.

Lunch steak was amazing and the sauce on the asparagus complimented it perfectly. But you pay for the quality for sure

Booked at Saltlik because it was one of the places I could get in for a larger group when making a reso. I originally had a reso for 8 and called the night before to change it to 6 people. The table was still set up for 8 when we got there. The food was good, not knock your socks off but enjoyable, good atmosphere and not to noisy to visit. The only part that wasn't good was our server. He did not seem to want to be there - at all. We have been here several times and usually rate it as one of our favourites. This time, however, we were not as impressed but we are hoping it was just an "off" night! Our group all ordered steak but two of us were disappointed in how it was cooked (one actually sending it back twice until it was cooked to preference). Also, some of us ordered seasonal vegetables as a side and we found they were undercooked and bland. On a positive note, the mushrooms were delicious and dessert was fantastic. This was my return visit to Saltlik, and they certainly deserve another when I am back in town again. They make you feel special from the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave, and the food is fantastic, starting with the best starters/appetizers I have ever had. Our serving team (headed by Jackie) was on top of our needs, and all with a smile. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

my beef caracio was WONDERFULL excellant presentation just the right amount of dressing The soup was tasty kudoos to the salad chef!!!!! as for my dinner companion...well.. she ordered a Ceasar the lime was hard and dry ...requested a new lime ordered a burger....it was BURNT!!!! sent it back new one appeared ....with no BACON....SHE WAS NOT AMUSED SUGGEST PUTTING THE SALAD CHEF ON GRILL AS THE GRILL CHEF NEEDS TO GO BACK TO CHEF SCHOOL... I would definatly go back ....not the case for my dinner companion...

Have eaten here a few times on business travel. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for - the best steaks in Calgary. Lobster mashed potatoes and beef carpaccio are fantastic as well. I'll keep coming back!
